    I guess I've come to terms with this. I do not like Shumpert, but I also don't have any earth-shattering suggestions for guys who fill a need and fit neatly into the faux-TPE.

    i dont consider shumpert a defensive stopper. hes not on those guys levels, especially the shumpert today. i mean it good that we didn;t give anything up for him so i guess you can say theres worse but a fan of him. not really. don;t think hes a good player at all.

    Possibly. I was thinking the same. Gordon/Shumpert to Atl. Hawks said they wanted shooters after their D12 experiment.

    Could shump be an ego replacement?

    Puts a 1-2 defender on the bench in case ego is needed for a melo trade?

    The Rockets are not slightly better than last year. They took a huge step forward by turning Beverley and Lou Williams into a top 10-15 player in Chris Paul.

    well it hasn't bc as we all see now, teams are loading up on talent to be able to score as much as they do. bc thats what its going to take first at the very least

    Reality is we overperformed first half. Weren't nearly as good after December. Right now we are probably a 53-55 win team.

    Yep. Iman will get a chance to play under a coach he performed his best under. He just needs to play great defense and knock down 3's.

    If it doesn't work... we have ways to trade him and picks to get THAT upgrade.

    Without EG, no way we beat GS.

    Shump is a great back of the rotation guy.
    Versatile defender, gritty and good experience in big games. I like this move. Will definitely play better with Paul and MDA.

    I don't consider Shumpert to be an Andre Roberson type defender either. But he's familiar with D'Antoni's system and he's another versatile wing off the bench to throw at small ball lineups. And they literally are giving up nothing to acquire him. There's no risk here. If he sucks, he won't play. If he's hitting the corner three and hounding guys like Klay, he's giving the Rockets what they need.
