Shumpert would be an ok add.

    .360 from 3 last season
    Trev was .344

At the very least it gives us the option of using Ariza in a trade? We get defensive wing depth which is always a useful thing isn't it?

that's the only reason why i think morey would trade for him...to use his expiring to acquire another player at deadline

Yea we all know Eric Gordon is on a bargain, not a fair comparison. It's arguable that Ariza and Paul are better defenders at a single position, but Shumpert is more versatile. Can guard 1-3 and is a guy you can throw at Durant in spurts. But I can get behind adding a contributor without giving much up. Of course I'd rather have JJ Redick, but he got 23 million.

If this deal happens gives me the feeling that Morey planning for next offseason. Shumpert has a player option next season and if he has a good season this year will most likely take it. Thus giving us "flexibility" to pursue our super team next year. So much for our super team this season

That 2nd tweet gives me hope about him being traded immediately following us acquiring him.

exactly. People forget if all you have are huge star core players and vet minimums on your team you cant improve because you have no moveable pieces. You need players on contracts like shumpert to make deals happen

How precious is the "TPE" anyway? Plenty of teams have had similar sized cap rooms and TPEs, and what have they gotten out of them in trades when not combined with a significant asset?

Everyone needs to chill and let the man do what he has to do. Jesus.

He already got CP3 and it's only July 1.

And if it wasn't for his maneuvering we wouldn't even be in talks to get Iman (who can be flipped per BIMA explanation) to get a better player...

Some of you are gonna die of heart disease or stroke by 40 at this rate.

If Morey sends EG for Shumpert, he for sure has a brain cancer

A little bit disappointed they aren't able to find anything better with their heap of non-guaranteed's but Shumpert is a serviceable wing player and the Rockets need as many of those as they can find. He'd fit fine here as a backup that gets 15-20 minutes a game.

off topic, but I'm still really annoyed that Paul George was had for peanuts

imagine a going into the season with a Big 3 of Harden, CP3, and PG

This had to be a Pringles gambit. How he talked Les and Morey into it.... Well, he was decent while on the Knicks. We must think we can make him into something.

Certainly not how I imagined spending $11M.
