That's my concern, that he'd be expensive. For the money he's likely to want, we have other possible options. For the MLE? Why not?
other than MLE, we'd have to dip below the cap, which we wouldn't do for Iggy, or work a deal with Golden State. I just don't see a path that lands him here.
Well how much money does GSW have left? They just paid Curry 201M and Livingston and about to pay Durant a max as well. I'm hoping they don't even have enough for Iggy. If we can get Iggy for MLE I'm ok with the offseason already. We can make a trade or see if any of our rookies develop for front court help.
Yeah but if it's MLE vs MLE then maybe Iggy can go somewhere where he can start vs where he picks up KD's sloppy seconds.
Actually Iggy prefers not to start. He wants to cruise through the regular season and show up for the wcf/finals. The sticking point with GSW is # of years. Dubs want him off the books when Klays contract is up. That's 2 years. If Rockets offer a 3+ year deal that probably gets it done.
Any link on above? Cuz I remember Iggy was pissed when he was benched. I mean it was joke but c'mon, these kinds of things are half meant: https://ca.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/n...cool-with-coming-off-the-bench-180516354.html
I'd prefer it if he signs for midlevel but as long as he doesn't stay with GSW I'm fine with it. TBH Iggy deserves to get paid it's ridiculous Curry is making 201M and they want him to take 2 year contract AND come off the bench.
He'd be a good fit but his jumper is not that great, getting old AND wants too much money as repeated 25 times so far
He's a slight upgrade to Ariza but his days of chasing players down for the whole game is definitely gone. His role on the GSW has been to apply consistent pressure for his 20 minutes a game and hit open 3's. I doubt we meet his asking price but its worth a shot. I hope we don't end up signing him, CP3, Milsap and Nene to horrendously lengthy contracts we end up hating in the future when they're all over the hill. Would be an interesting first few years though
