    If you get Melo, how do you have enough money who can ACTUALLY move the needle? Let's face it even the Knicks fans want to trade Melo for a bag of chips.

    Anthony is an overrated loser. I'll be glad when people stop talking about him.

    i say we S&T for millsap.

    wait for melo to get baught out and join us without having to give the knicks anything. that's the only way to get them both unless atl or nyk is willing to take ryno.

    even with just millsap, we're still in the elite group of 'superteams'. look at teams based on how many all-stars level players they have:

    GSW = 4.5 (iggy being 0.5)
    CAVS with melo = 4
    BOS = 3 if they sign hayward
    HOU = 3 with millsap
    MIN = 3 with kat/buttler and then teague & wiggins counting as 0.5 each.
    SAS = 2.5 if you count pop at 1 and lma as 0.5
    NOP = 2.5 with holiday as 0.5

    2 stars doesn't get you anything anymore. look at MEM, NYK, POR, OKC, TOR, and WAS. that's why we need millsap or melo to at least make the WCF. even then we'd need both, or at least one of them and maybe 2 borderline guys to make it a decent series with the warriors.

    You're delusional and star struck If you think by getting Milsap Rockets aren't going all in.

    I do agree with you a bit. We should definitely be trying for Melo, and if we don't get him we'll be stuck in second tier. I'd still be ok with Millsap instead, with keeping EG and signing one or two more quality veterans. That might get us to compete with GS if everything clicks.

    Still, I think chances of Melo ending up here are slim to none. We literally gave up every positive asset a rebuilding team would want in the Chris Paul trade. Only hope would be a buyout, which I don't think will happen.

    How did Tyson Chandler look last year? Would we essentially be rotationing Chandler and Nene as backup C on a nightly basis?

    But Melo isn't even that good and all of his jab stepping doesn't fit our offense

    Rockets are screwed... OKC really messed everything up! if we don't get Melo...Offer Anderson for Aldridge and say a prayer! If that doesn't work trade Harden and tank! :mad:

    I don't agree. I don't think it's exactly likely he plays here next year, but I'm not sure it's super likely he's a Knick at the start of the season either. He has 2 teams on his list, and a no trade clause. We can make a better offer than Cleveland, since Love is off the table. We'll see what happens, but it would not be a major upset to see Melo the Rocket.

    Have you not read anything? They both have said their time in NY has no affect on the reunion here. Melo would absolutely fit here and he wouldn't need the call in his hand every possession. He would thrive in the corner here draining 3's

    His 3-PT % the last two years: 36% and 34% (both rounded up)
    Ryno's 3-PT % in comparison: 40% (rounded down)
    Both guys are awful defenders

    Dude look at the system he was playing in and the players around him. He would shoot that 3 at a much higher rate here. Come on bro, be better than that.

    I agree on that. Better system and culture here. I'd be okay with him if it somehow got us Lebron next year :D

    Lebron........if you look at the moves Morey has made and those he's rumored to be pursuing, it all adds up to trying to get a seat at one very exclusive poker table, the possibility of a Lebron super team sweepstakes next offseason. I'm not particularly excited about Carmelo Anthony, a supposed superstar that has barely won his entire career. However, it is public knowledge that Lebron, Paul, and Anthony have pondered forming a super team once Lebron can opt out next offseason and Anthony's price tag would probably be more conducive to a super team formation. That super team was supposed to occur in L.A., but with the Paul trade, we now own Paul's bird rights and thus can pay him more than anyone else with more years on his contract. None of this guarantees that Chris Paul, had it been Paul George, or Anthony wouldn't leave after one season with the Rockets to form the Lebron super team elsewhere, but it at least puts the Rockets in the conversation as a destination. And if it you shoot for the stars and it doesn't work out, there are other elite free agents that will be available in a very lucrative next offseason

    It is but only because we couldn't catch the big fish. Millsap has been the 3rd option. If Melo ends up in Cleveland then Millsap is pointless anyways cause we'll be a tier 2 team. I literally don't understand yalls logic in being okay with being at most 3rd best in the league and waste hardens & CP3 prime.

    Paul Millsap and role players aren't gonna do **** and y'all seem okay with that. While you are gonna get knocked outside the super team race. Okc could possibly beat us now so what's the point
