NOT FAX. FACT NEWS. I was wrong. It was a difference of $2 million a years to keep Harden and OKC the Next Lakers/Celtics Dynasty. Now it's the GSW Dynasty and maybe Rockets! By Ben Golliver The public push-and-pull between the Thunder and James Harden over a contract extension is heating up with just days left before the deadline to strike a deal. Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports reports that Harden, the reigning NBA Sixth Man of the Year, has rejected a 4-year contract extension worth $52 million as he eyes a max deal worth $60 million instead.
Presti and Morey are the 2 best GM. Presti turned Ibaka into Paul and if things don't work out, they can still trade Paul to a team like Boston for a Top3 pick !! FREAKING CRAZY And Morey turned BEVS to get PG
but a huge part of getting george is what he does without the ball. he plays elite defense at the wing when not carrying the whole offense which is what everyone is looking for to defend the warriors, and can drain 3's while playing off the ball. he's exactly what you need in a role player, except he can get you 30 on any given night. of course there's the risk he leaves a year from now.
No way George picks Sooners over Trojans next year Rockets weren't giving up Capela or Gordon Teague to MIN..... West reeeal strong. East even suckier than before.
Will be interesting to see if he can make it work with WB. I see more fit issues here potentially with their personalities matching. Definitely fun!!
Ainge really need to stop overvaluing his draft picks. If past history is any indication, even top 3 picks have a very high chance of turning into just role players or complete busts. He had enough assets to top the offers for Cousin, Butler and George combined, and it'll be extremely unlikely for his hoard of draft picks to turn into players of Cousins, Butler & PG13's quality.
I give it less than a 10% chance he'll stay after this season. Westbrook is a ball hog and that might annoy PG, but the real problem is OKC is probably the least desirable NBA city to live in.
Lakers don't have much to offer either. The Lakers offer would have centered around Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle. Clarkson & Oladipo are the same age, have similar contract but Oladipo have the superior stat, PER, win share etc. As for Randle & Sabonis, Randle will become a RFA after next season & I doubt the Pacers want to shell out big money to retain someone like Randle
Does seem unlikely that he'll stay with the Thunders, but I'm definitely hoping for that. If he decides to stay in Oklahoma next year, the Lakers will remain terrible for the foreseeable future.
Lol this is high rate comedy its so much fun to mock other teams. 1. Screw you Ainge, you can keep all your assets and suck it you better hope Hayward is coming or you are screwed. It might seem good to hold onto all these assets but remember Celts have a core of vets in Horford and Isiah Thomas they dont have time to wait for these picks to grow up and their batch of old rooks like Smart are about to hit FA in a couple of years. 2. Screw you Horford, you passed on the Rox for the "culture" now you go play with kids. 3. Screw you Presti, this is totally a desperate move by Presti I guess ownership has him on the hot seat. Getting George for Oladipo and sabonis is a bargain but tbh there is 90% chance George is just gonna use them as a stopgap to go to Lakers. 4. Screw you Bird this is what you get for withholding George from Cleveland I mean Indiana isn't competing against Cleveland, it is competing against all 29 other teams you trade George to who has the best offer. Sabonis and Oladipo are nothing, a dude like KLove is 2x better hell even Thompson is a better player. Just like Ainge you held onto your asset too long until it lost value. Finally....screw you Lakers I feel like Lakers are senator Palpatine right now, they are letting GSW hog all the limelight but they are suddenly gonna emerge as the big bad in a couple of years. They will probably tank for 1 more year then burst into the season with their 4 top 3 picks+Paul George+whoever FA superstar they got smh.
It would be even MORE foolish to assume its not a rental. Maybe if George was a neutral FA you can say he will be staying, but there were reports last year he was "hellbent" on going to the Lakers and instead of denying this story which is what any other player would do he just kept silent which is like agreeing to it. KD already had plans to go to GSW but when asked about it he would say "Naw I'm not even thinking about it I am under OKC contract blah blah". This means he was at least trying to keep an open mind or didn't want to embarrass OKC, but in PG's case his camp is probably the ones who leaked the story and Lakers started cleaning their cap to prepare for him. Top 4? Really? Utah would be better if they kept Hayward and Minny might be better since they now have a power 4 with Teague/Butler/Wiggins/Kat. And even if they become top 4, it is only because of George if he leaves they become top 8. Why will he stick with top 8 team when he can go to his dream team Lakers and be their new Kobe?
