Both CP3 and Harden are going to play 36+ minutes. That leaves 24 mins for EG and other guards. And EG played 31MPG last season. Unless EG was traded or DM really wanted more insurance, I don't see DM spending 18M-ish on a reserve.
Not sure what numbers you are looking at??? Not saying Redick is a better fit or even better player than Gordon but two things are for sure. Redick is more durable playing in 75 games or more 5 of last 6 seasons whereas Gordon has only played in 70 games or more twice in his career. Redick is a career 41.5% 3 point shooter and 88.8% from the line. Gordon has only shot over 40% once in his entire career from 3 and is a 81.6% FT shooter. Gordon maybe the better all around and better fit however Redick is the better shooter even if it is slightly. Leading the league in 3's made is not the sign of a great shooter.
Depends on the price tag. 16-18mil is pretty much a non-starter if we intend on adding at least one more star.
The whole point being, I thought returning "Mr. Basketball" Eric Gordon to Indiana was a crucial trade piece for us to land Paul George. With him gone, JJ would be a great 6th man off the bench. For the minimum. Because he would be joining a super team with a puncher's chance to contend after 11 years of never being on a contender.
Simple question: who is worth more money? I feel as if we give Redick is asking price we are in another Ryno situation. All I'm saying he's need not worth his asking price. Now I would love him on the rockets but he needs to take a pay cut.
Yup. I think that if he weren't considering a discounted price, there is no way he would choose to become a backup on a team looking to acquire players like Millsap, George, Melo. At $12m range, I'm very up for it, even though it's less value than Gordon. But then you can deal Gordon to Philly for Okafor, top 20 protected first and Henderson ($10m expiring, only $1m guaranteed). Now we're in business.
CP3 isn't gonna be playing 36+ minutes...he hasn't played over 36 mpg the last 5 seasons and there's no reason for him to do that here MDA talked about lowering Harden's minutes, and that can happen now that we have CP3 I don't think Morey will give him 16-18 mil, and I think Reddick will be more of an option if Gordon is used in a S&T for a PF like Millsap 16 mil in NY should be like 12 mil in Houston
I'll take Blake and Crawford on the cheap, but I don't want too many Clippers bringing that soft, choking culture here to Houston. Pass on JJ and his price.
Rockets will be better off with Harden and Cp3 around the 30-32 minute mark. Let Reddick and Gordon eat up the remaining 36 while both getting small ball action at the three.
Reddick isn't really a need unless Ego is moved, and even then, he better be ready to take a discount what we really need are more versatile, 2-way wings that can guard multiple positions and be a threat offensively...you're gonna need to have plenty of those guys if you're going up against GS we also need an upgrade at the PF spot
It is a very slight part of it. Being a chucker doesn't mean you are a great shooter. If it did then I could be in the NBA instead of a rec league. Gordon is no chucker but lets face it, the Rockets heaved up a ton of 3's. Like I said Redick is the better shooter even if it is slightly. I do agree with most in that it feels like a sideways move if we are talking of replacing Gordon with Redick.
I agree with you there. I like Gordon's game. Redick is kind of a one trick pony on offense. Someone is going to over spend on Redick by the sounds of it.
Part of being a great shooter is being able to get your shot off. Shooting 2 threes a game at 46% is not anywhere close to as impressive as shooting 14 threes a game at 40%. The great shooter is the second of these two players.
