NICEEEEEEEEEEE! LOL It seems as tho Paul George has the Dwight Howard complex. He thinks he is a ALPHA 1 when in reality he is a very solid 2. No one is going to follow him anywhere, he just doesnt have that type of pull. If he wants to win, he wont be able to when he is the man of the team. He is a robin to someones batman and he is going to have to learn that either the winning way or the losing way. All these sucky years in Indiana should have taught him alot, but I guess they didnt. TBH do not want him here with that type of team killing ego. Would be a blessing to talk Millsap down from the high horse of his potential Max and to get him here to win. He is old, offer him a $26 million+ contract and lets get the ball rolling. I hope he accepts, i doubt it though. Also, as last resort.... Deandre Jordan would be nice to trade for.......also Melo as a bought out player or a player we traded for to get Ryan Anderson off the book. But hoping for bought out player.
I know everyone thinks he'd slide in as a number 3 here perfectly, but the Indy beat writers have said that an issue in Indy has been that he doesn't want the ball out of his hands. He wants to be a star, he wants to dominate the ball and he wants guys to defer to him.
What does he think is gonna happen when he goes to LA? They're hoping to bring in Lebron as well, and they won't stop there. Does he actually want to win? Him being the main guy who's dominating the ball will never lead a team anywhere.
It's true, Codman confirmed it here: Since that's the case I would be happy to get Melo (who more than likely just wants to win and change of culture) instead of Paul George who would be a rental and completely blow up what we worked so hard for. Wonder how Boston feels about this... probably why they won't give up the Nets AND Lakers first rounders in a trade for him.
Let's go with CJ McCollum Actually, though CJ Miles just opted out and is a free agent now. Demarcus Cousins is under contract until 2018. DeMarre Carroll has a bad contract through 2019. Dante Cunningham declined his player option for the coming season, looking for a long term deal. Darren Collison is also an unrestricted free agent.
Not sure i'm buying that...why do first and last name initials for everyone except Carmelo Anthony? Even commonly known as simply Nene is NH assuming it's him. CM has to be someone else IMO. CJ Miles? Chris McCullough? Obviously not CJ McCollum
I'm with ya. I mean, he's in his prime: I get it. Still disappointing to hear, though. Even more reason for us to pursue the Blake, Millsap (and CP3) types. Players that have already had great individual success and now they just want to win. PG13 will get there someday. Lord knows, unless LeBron comes knocking, he aint winning once he inevitably joins the Lakers.
All the players initials in Codman's signature has been mentioned by him in his post. No mentions of CJ Miles yet, many mention of Carmelo. Could be CJ, but I think it's Melo.
@Codman - thanks again for the tidbits - much appreciated Milsap though - I like him a lot but at his age and the deal he is looking for makes me sort of want to shy away. I mean 32 years old looking for a 4 year max deal - I mean we would be tied in paying two guys 36+ a ton of cash. I dont mind paying Paul that since he is a HOF and his game isnt all athleticism and he should still be efficient barring any major injuries. I would rather have a guy more around Harden's age or younger so we can still remain competitive. If by some miracle Milsap is willing to do a 2+1(TO/partial) that would be huge, but I cant see that happening this would be his last big payday. Also I don't know if Milsap alone puts us where we have a chance against GS. The part about Chandler is intriguing, I didn't think about him as a potential buyout but with Len and Chris who could play C in small ball lineups if he is bought out or possibly the guy the Rockets get in their 12M TPE scenario that would be huge. I think Chandler still has enough in the tank to be a productive player. I would def be ok with a rotation of Chandler/Nene at the center spot. Yes that means losing Capela, but if we have to lose Capela to be able to get another star I would do it. F5 season starts in just under 12 hours - I am excited. I think Paul could be a great recruiter along with Harden and now Paul has a GM and owner that will manipulate and find any and all loopholes in the CBA to get players here.
