No-one seems to be mentioning the massive impact having CP3 walking into meetings with Harden and MDA will have. Not only do we bring the record of Les Alexander and his drive to win at all costs, we also bring two of the best playmakers in NBA history. CP3 carries a lot of respect with players. Players of his generation that maybe Harden doesn't have relationships with. CP3 is also the President of the NBA players union so he along with Morey know the CAP like no other manager/player duo in the league. This recruitment group might be more exciting than the Dream, Drexler one we sent to snatch Howard. I just want to remind you folks about that. Paul sacrificed money next year to come and win. That is a testament of how he feels about our organization and I'm sure he will make that a point to recruits.
What recruitment group? I'm not saying they won't recruit. They'll have the MLE, etc. And they can try to convince guys like Millsap to "force" their way here. But is there going to be a recruitment tour of sorts like they've had in the past years? Anyway, I agree with your point generally... just questioning are we supposed to be hearing news about DM targeting specific people Friday night at this point?
Yes sir. There should be some really good meetings with him involved now. Who wouldn't want to come here and get a bunch of open looks from him and James.. Do we know who we are having meetings with yet? I hope Milsap is on that short list...
We have his bird rights. He wants that $200mil and he will only be able to get it here. He chose the Rockets, we didn't just trade for him.
Unless he has unofficially already agreed to an extension that we can't announce because of CBA rules. I suspect that we've already agreed to the 5 year max for him.
There will be a group if they feel they can get someone even if it means moving pieces to do so. They have had one for every FA they have tried to go after: Howard, Lowry, Bosh, Melo - the size of it though can be large or small. I think Paul as the president of the Players Association carries a lot of clout when approaching guys. I think Paul will play a larger role in trying to get the guys who fill out the bench and would sign for less to play for Houston
No doubt we do. I hope he will be aggressive in trying to recruit Millsap. I would hate to see him joining his buddy Lebron on another team.
Paul needs to convince one guy. LeBron He can have a bunch of Ryan Bowens around the team after that.

They never had any money to bring anyone in or really any flexibility.... The dream is Lebron next summer decides to play with CP3 here... that's my biggest hope/desire/wish.
The Clippers could only sign players to Vet min deals. We have a lot more than that, and we have a two time MVP runner up.
I see it playing out like this. 1) LeBron loses to the Warriors again next year. 2) LeBron forms a super team in Houston with CP3, wins 2 more rings and retires.
