Signing another wing wouldn't make too much sense though, given that we gave up Montrezl, Wiltjer and are also trading Anderson, according to Cod.
Vucevic would make a bit more sense, as right now our only bigs would be Capela, Nene and Onuaku.

I think he means Hezonja is my guess as I said earlier and Biymbo is the bad contract.Having said that in the past we had been linked with Vucevic as well. We might have to take him in a Hezonja deal.

And then Deandre, the guy actually from Texas who they felated so he'd stay in LA, is the last one standing.

Agreed. Only situation I'd be comfortable with parting ways with him is if we get PG. If it's Melo we're after then its absolutely necessary to keep him.

But just imagine our own lineup of death though
    Paul
    Gordon
    Harden
    Ariza
    Melo

I hope it's Hezonja, he should work well here with Mike, i don't see the point in trade Anderson for Biyombo...and they're not trading Vuc for Anderson.

I'm thinking more than likely it won't just be Fournier but he will probably be the centerpiece for a trade.

Remember they also have some bad contracts they want to get out like Jeff Green and such... he's played small ball 4 with the Thunder and Celtics at some points, I'm sure the Magic have to in spots but not as often as he was on those previous two teams since they have Aaron Gordon now.

Bismack Biyombo would be another TERRIBLE contract they might want to offload, but Biyombo, Green, and Fournier may be too much to adsorb even with Anderson's contract going out with other pieces.

The only players I'd want from Orlando are Hezonja or Gordon simply because of Salary. To me guys like Vucevic, Fournier, Ross should be back up plans in case we can't get melo on a buyout plus another top guy like Milsap, BG, Paul George or dark horse Hayward. Hell, I would probably put Ibaka and Gallo above those guys as well.

As much as I want to get rid of Ryno I wouldn't throw away a chance at any of those aforementioned options for Fournier or Terrance Ross.

Biyombo is out of the question I think. Makes no sense unless he was re routed elsewhere. Otherwise the team is better of with Ryno.

@Codman Thank you again for all you do to make this place that much better.

Given all that was said in terms of potential moves I have a few thoughts:

    1) IMO the Melo signing via buyout is a best case scenario for Houston. They would be able to add a major piece very cheap, similar to how they were able to get Josh Smith a few years ago from Detroit. Given whats available and depending on what the buyout is the MLE or BAE maybe enough for Melo. This is going to be tough though because NY isn't going to want to just buy Melo out, but if the rumors of Masai or any other competent GM comes into place they may want to just cut loses and move forward. It really depends on how much money Melo is willing to give up in the buyout. If Melo is willing to give up meaningful money then I think a buyout happens BUT if he gives up more in his buyout then he probably will want more (at least MLE) in his next contract

    2) I can see the whole DJ/Doc issues with CP, but I think its a result of almost 'forcing' DJ back. He came back and probably expected to have a larger role and he really didnt. DJ played like a monster when Blake was out which probably got to his head. Either way I think the issues with Doc was greater. IMO Doc has been an super overrated coach and even worse GM. He hasnt done any better with the clippers than Del Negro and arguably had more talent.

3)At the moment I do not see how the Rockets can make a move to get BG. Even if they move Ryno and free up space I think maybe something else needs to happen which means either Trevor or EGO - and honestly of the two I would rather move EGO. (sorry I LOVE Trevor) The question is if CP and JH are close with Blake then maybe there is something already in place.

    4) I need to really read into player tweets/quotes a lot more. Both Bev and Lou basically tweeted out things that seemed strange but all make sense now with the trade. Its like they already knew and it was just waiting and waiting for it to happen. Part of me is shocked if this was the case that nothing was leaked and commend both Bev and Lou for being professional in that sense. Also kind of really opens it up more about how players are more and more GMs now and the GMs are really the guys who make it happen via the cap. Players also talk as LeBron said he would never sign with the Clippers ever which means he probably already knew (from CP) that he would be leaving.

5)I hate the banana boat thing but it would be interesting if Wade gets bought out (which I think Chicago at this point has an interest in doing) if he is convinced to come down here. I think he goes to Cleveland personally. If Melo and CP3 are here with Harden - Wade could be the 6th man that would make Gordon moveable to potentially land a Blake or other piece. (Jesus I sound like a Lakers fan here with this pipedream scenario)

    6) BG's injury history concerns me but he is a great player and would be amazing in D'Antoni's offense like Amare 2.0 but better. I just cant see how the Rockets land him but thank god its not me behind that desk but its Daryl Morey who will be able to find a way.

    7) Morey's absolutely right that starting tomorrow night having both Harden and CP3 there recruiting is way more powerful than just one of them. If what Codman stated that there are a bunch of guys who would be great for the bench that would be willing to play here than "gutting" the team (except Ariza plz) would be worth it to get Melo and BG since others would sign cheap here to win.

As for Assets in trade I dont know if Llull's rights have any value and same with Gentile's, but those could be useful in lieu of a FRP depending on the team.

100% it's Vucevic. There's not even a doubt. He wants out and thinks he is a star and is tired of losing. They also couldn't find a good taker for him.

Also I don't believe BG has a good relationship with CP3 or he is going to come here.
He wants to win? Okay but he also wants a max and to be in a big market. Since when wanting to win meant necessarily you have to come to Houston? If anything he would look to go to the Spurs or to the Cavs.
