I love stories like this. That's a great one. It's as nice as that story about the Rockets fan getting a free subway sandwich from Chuck Hayes.

Cliff Paul will follow his bro as well?. Cant wait for the Rockets V Floppers game where that senile fool who says bingo everytime the floppers scores reacts to Paul clowning them on their floor. No more Bingo for you.

That video was based on Ty Lawson not wasting away due to his alcoholism (or lack of it, since reportedly he had been abstaining from drinking when he put up the shitshow season he had).

If we got prime Lawson and not drunk (or sober?) Lawson the video would have been accurate.

I watched that live and was somewhat surprised. It was good to see, seeing as espn is so biased. It even looked to bother Jemele Hill somewhat, but she seemed to bite her tongue. Was almost like Smith went off script. Everyone of those shows are cookie cutter and Smith was really the only one who blasted away like that.

I love the stories about will Harden be able to play alongside another PG.....why would he recruit CP3 if he wasn't able to? And last year no one believed he would be a great passer and he lead the league. Losing Pat hurts, but you don't get chances to get an Allstar very often so they had to pull the trigger. I'm just glad they just killed the thought of stars not wanting to come to Houston because of James when in fact players around the league see that the Rockets are the darkhorse lead by James to compete for the trophy.

Harden and CP3 will be a great pairing and fit.
BUT This coach Nick guy I have seen many videos of his, with new free agency acquistions and most of them have little to do with what happens in the end.
It's not just the Lawson video, he also said Monroe would be an amazing fit, Butler would fit with Wade and Rondo etc etc. I haven't seen yet him making a video about a new big FA saying that oh there's some problem here.
I think he does it just to get clicks of excited fans. Every time he's way too optimistic and everything will fit perfectly!

I mean if you like it as an uplifting video go ahead. But I doubt it will have a lot to do with reality.

Gutted we're losing Beverley, but am more than ok as its for CP3. This is a hell of a high profile trade. Well done Morey yiu genius b*stard.
Thing I'm loving about this right now is the media's almost disbelief why CP3 chose Houston. Many look like they're chocking on their food when talking about it.

Every offseason come free agency, we seem to travel to see players and try to make deals. I'm guessing Les, Paul, Harden and Morey could sit in Houston and take appointments this year. Take a number, free agents. Line forms there.

If you're a scorer, you have two guys that want to give you the ball so you do what you do best. Unbelievable move.

Can't believe Morey managed to get this steal of a trade. As a CP3 fan this should be an interesting team especially if you guys get Paul George.

I thought for sure CP3 would go to the Spurs instead.

    http://www.latimes.com/sports/clippers/la-sp-paul-rockets-tampering-20170628-story.html

NBA teams aren’t allowed to begin negotiating with free-agent players until 9 p.m. PDT on Friday.

So how was it that Chris Paul informed the Clippers on Tuesday, three days before that window was to open, that he wanted to join the Houston Rockets?

The question was posed to several team executives around the league, who all spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitive nature of the topic.

“I don’t want to use the ‘T’ word — tampering — but we all don’t play by the rules when it comes to making deals,” one Eastern Conference executive said. “Besides, nobody is going to rat anybody out. That’s how this league works.”

Beyond the typical “how it leaves the Clippers/what it does for the Rockets” discourse, the move prompted an additional response in some of the league’s front offices. In summary, something along the lines of: “Hmmm. That was fast.”

“Every team is looking for an advantage,” one executive said. “The deal got done way too fast for somebody not to be talking already. That happened real quick. But hey, that’s how it goes in this league.”

An NBA official said the Clippers had not complained to the league, but several team executives wondered whether the Rockets had a head start in negotiations.

According to one NBA executive, James Harden, the Rockets’ all-star guard, had been recruiting Paul throughout the season. An executive from another team said Harden had already told a fellow NBA player that Paul’s going to Houston was a done deal.

the trade is great because we didn't have to clear $34M in cap space by gutting our team to land him. instead we trade $15M of our own players and a bunch of random players, and he keeps a cap hit of $24M so we can land another star.

yes, he's 32, yes he'll miss 15-20 games, but as long as he's healthy and rested for the playoffs we'll be very tough to beat. the advantage he brings that other stars dont is recruiting power. he'll get melo and george to at least consider houston when they wouldn't have if we landed someone else. hell, he might get lebron to consider houston next summer. he's also the type of leader that holds people accountable. harden isn't that and there will be a difference in the locker room. guys will respect cp3 or they'll get called out, including harden.

    great move.
