Oh god, please tell me we aren't going to deal with rumors about Paul bolting next season to form a super team with Lebron somewhere else. Good grief.
The different stories are nuts. Paul wanted Austin to start! Paul wanted Austin traded! Paul was mad that Austin acted like a star! Paul was mad that Doc didn't yell at Austin enough!
As much of a realist as I am, I truly believe CP3 changes the dynamic of free agency destination. He is the freaking president of the players' association. This decision is huge/impactful to the rest of the league. And if we bring Melo, I guarantee you we will be one of 2-3 teams that Lebron considers joining. It's crazy, but totally plausible. I truly believe this is why Morey looked so energetic and alive (in many years) in the press conference, because he also knows that we have a legitimate shot at THE KING.
I like who I like. Not that that should concern any of y'all. I wanted to see Harrell grow on this team. Hell, I wanted to see Dekker grow too. Honestly, I've never liked Chris Paul. He's a d******d. A great point guard but a d******d. Great that we got him in terms of improving the talent but I prefer growing teams from the inside and watching their heart displayed on the court and watching them grow and succeed as a unit whatever the odds are of winning a Championship. What Durant did was cowardice. F him. Now the talent pool in the league has to be condensed dramatically to have a snowballs chance in hell of winning. So much for that new CBA creating more parity. The rich teams will get richer and the poor will get poorer and only 3 or 4 teams max have a shot out of 30. Pretty pathetic.
Lebron may only have 3-4 more great years. So if he wants a ring, then Houston may be his only viable option.
I just watched the Paul video on the rockets.com intro page. I find it interesting how they made it a point to highlight Capela/Paul/Harden/Gordon/Ariza, but not Anderson. Clutchfans, cue the it's happening gif for me.
