You're acting like this is a final product. You're telling me you would walk away from Chris Paul because of Montrezl ****ing Harrell?? Come on. Some of you need to step back and see that we got an ALL-WORLD player. Those types of guys don't grow on trees.
For everyone dogging me for not being excited over getting a guard over an All Star forward I will be patient. Everyone knows we lack more at forward than any contending championship team. Soooo, I will hush until I see what superstar forward or center we get, and hope we don't end up with more backups to Ryno and Ariza, who aren't exactly dominating the league at their positions.
Im interested to see CP3's affect on Harden. If CP3 is able to take a good chunk of the playmaking duties, I wonder if Harden's defense will pick up? CP3 is going to hold James accountable too. This is still James' team, but CP3 is not going to allow no slacking and half stepping. If James responds this could be his maturing moment. Most great players need to play with other great players to really blossom into mega star championship caliber players.
I hear... my wish list was/is Blake, Milsap or ibaka... but figuring Morey ain't done.... I think we'll end up with Melo at pf.... not all that enamored with the possibility... but if teams were charging us 2 1st rd picks to move Ryno's contract swapping him for Melo would at least shave a year off.... I think people are all yippy skippy on this is just the first domino...

While you are correct the Rockets need to upgrade on Ryan Anderson at the 4 defensively more than anything, it doesn't mean you pass up the opportunity to improve your team by trading a bunch of role players for an elite point guard in Chris Paul.
Give me a break. Montrezl Harrell is an unproven, dime a dozen role player in the NBA. Chris Paul is a top 10-20 player in the NBA, in a league where you win with stars. Daryl Morey can find another Harrell in the draft or free agency. He can't find an elite player like CP3.
Trevor Ariza is a great fit next to James Harden, just like Beverley was. The defensive weak link in the starting lineup other than Harden is Anderson, and that's the spot they need to upgrade on (hopefully PG13) to compete with Golden State.
All I am saying is we gave up a lot and I happened to really like Harrell and thought he could blossom into Shawn Marion type player on this team. I'm disappointed.
If I'm Morey, I'm on the phone with the Pacers and telling them they can have any combination of players outside of Harden or CP3 for Paul George. He's the perfect fit as the small ball 4 and can guard Durant, meaning you have good defenders to match up with Curry(CP3), Durant(PG13), and Thompson(Ariza). I like Capela, but if that's the cost to get George, Morey needs to pull the trigger.
