I keep hearing this. I think we have to remember that Melo was asked to take a back seat to JEREMY LIN by D'Antoni and he rebelled against that. I don't think that there is personal animus, just a big ego not wanting to be asked to give up the ball for (at that time) a role player. Here, he will be asked to take a backseat to CP3 and Harden. That is a much easier pill to swallow. Remember, D'Antoni and Melo won olympic gold together:

don't trade for him! wait for a buyout! paul will get melo and his agent to demand one. if he signs here for the MLE, LLE, or vet min (depending on how good his buyout is, we could trade for a 4th star.

if we trade ryno or a combo of ego/ariza, we're basically done for the summer except for adding bench guys for the MLE, LLE, and vet min.

 

Because I don't think teams would have told you that they would need to get back 2 first round picks to take that garbage off your hands like they did for Anderson. He's got serious negative value.
