I do think Ryno's gravity is pretty underrated. Melo's gravity is much closer to the rim, even from the corner 3.

Will Melo like playing the 4?

D'Antoni cut his mustache because of Melo.

That would be really idiotic of them.
If they let Millsap go that means rebuilding.
Teams who rebuild don't want vastly overpaid rolepayers. At least if they gonna get such a bad contract they would demand some good asset.

yeah he can also drive to the hoop when defenders closeout and he can get you 10rebs in a big game. the key is making him accept the role of a complimentary player and not the big dogg, then he could be a very good fit.

Can Rockets and Knicks make a little trade like an unguaranteed minimum contract for a 2nd rounder (to NY) as a compensation to make the Knicks buyout Melo? Would this be against the rules?

Lmao..I understand being optimistic, but Harden/CP3/Melo is already a out of this world exciting thought. But leave it to ya'll,

    CP3
    Harden
    Paul George
    Melo
    Anthony Davis
Mainstream media pushing outdated misinformed narratives again. Melo can't get along with MDA? Didn't one of our local writers just put on twitter the Rockets have no quams about getting Carmelo? Yet this airhead is referencing old nonsense about MDA's tenure with NY almost 5-6 years ago. I'm sure MDA don't care about that crap, he's all about winning. ESPN reporters don't need to report on any other teams besides the Lakers, GS & maybe the Knicks

If they can do this with Anderson and filler without giving up Gordon or Capela, the Rockets would actually be in unbelievable shape. But if they have to give up either of those guys, I like it a hell of a lot less. Ariza is expendable for me, though. Houston could add a competent 3 and D SF with the MLE. I actually love the idea of Melo as a stretch 4, and he'd be a much more versatile, deadly offensive weapon than Anderson was.

Who else might want Anderson is the what I'm wondering. Doesn't have to be a great deal.

Do the Blazers want Anderson for Festus - whose 1yr $15m can be bought out for $8.4m?
Do the Sixers want him for Gerald Henderson - whose 1yr $18m can be bought out for $10m?

Can the Knicks get a better deal than shedding Melo for $8-10m and cap hit is gone in 2018? Maybe we throw in a 2nd?

I seriously hope it's not a trade. Buyout or pass. We need to aim high with what few assets we have.

usually a second rounder is bought for 1-2 at most 3.5 million.
The Knicks would have to buy that damn 2nd roud pick for like 30 million.

I don't believe for a second Melo will give them a serious discount. EVEN with coming to Houston he would never make that money back.

I 100% want Melo over Paul George just because it gives us a legitimate shot at Lebron in 2018.

Two of Lebron's closest friends in Melo/CP3, and hell, Dwade, would be a wonderful pitch. Add the marketing in China and how much more money he could save being in Texas.

I absolutely think Melo is one of the most overrated players in NBA history, but as a 3rd option (like the 2012 Olympics), he will be valuable in that role, and especially in the pursuit for Lebron James.
