My last BBall shoe purchases foreshadowed this. I was down to deciding between CP3s and Melos. I finally decided.. Why not get both? So I did. The moral of the story? I bought both shoes but i still suck at basketball but at least my shoes look good
We still keep EGOD and BOOBY BROWN as our bench reinforcers And we all know CP3 came here to play with BOOBY BROWN, not Jim
So funny that people don't think this trade was in the Houston Rockets best interest going forward or Morey would have just waited for Free Agency to sign Paul. This is the best of both worlds since it allows us still pursue a free agent (either 3rd star) or at the very least an MLE type of player making 8.4 mil per like Patrick Patterson, etc.(not sure who else is out there that would be a good fit).
Assuming CP3 resigns next year, his contract will be painful in a couple of years ( 40+ million when he's 37 years old & close to $50 million when he's 38 years old). David Alridge mentioned one of the reason for this CP3 move was that the Clippers weren't willing to pay a 37 year old CP3 $45 million, now the Rockets will have the "privilege" of paying a 38 year old CP3 $50 million.
Actually, I think his offensive skill set would really shine in a Mike D'Antoni offense. It's that he plays worse defense than Harden, and I don't believe he has the right attitude, and I am just not a fan of his. Certainly, Stockton and Malone were valuable NBA players, but I would have never wanted them on the Rockets. I don't dislike Anthony anywhere near as much as I do those guys, and I actually think Anthony handled himself pretty well, and with more poise, and class than Guru Phil and the Knicks have in that relationship.
Again I stated Unless EGOD IS GONE. Meaning yes if Eric gets traded then it makes sense otherwise not really.
Remember when we had this same feeling when we thought we landed Chris Bosh? Funny how things work... Post
@EricPincus: What the Rockets are doing will not be legal in new CBA, which disappoints me frankly, don't like this particular rule change. Technically what Rockets are doing would still be legal in July, but over time new non-guaranteed players won't have monetary trade value
