Anyone surprised by Hardens unselfish obviously only knew him as a Rocket. His OJC stint clearly shows him as the ultimate team player.

Most unselfish superstar in the history of the NBA. No other superstar is more willing to play a role such as this man but hopefully he gets more dog in him when its time to be a lion. But that could be CP3.

Anyone that tells you they know is lying. Just like how we weren't quite sure Harden at the point would turn out, we just have to trust that D'Antoni can make it work and make it work well. The days of Harden leading the league in assists might be over but it's not out of reach for Harden to average 32 a night with CP3 creating opportunities for him

This viewpoint never ceases to amaze me.

The reason Ty Lawson didn't work is because Ty Lawson was (and largely still is) a bad basketball player. It's that simple.

Comparing results with Ty Lawson to results with Chris Paul is the equivalent of saying because the Texans had a bad offense with Brock Osweiler, they'll be bad with Deshaun Watson or anyone else at the position.

Good luck winning anything with CP3-Harden and no other shooters at guard or without a front court...

I'm not one to say this type of thing gratuitously - but it seems like things are really heating up.

Definitely a legit concern. They will absolutey have to find a way to put shooters on the team.

People forget that this was a dude willing to spend his career on a bench as a 6th man if only the Thunder didn't hardball him he certainly would have.

Worried about this as well. I think people lose sight of how deep the Warriors are. You can accumulate stars but your bench better be ready too in order to beat them.

If we were to sign CP3, who would need to go?

    Just Anderson, right?

I know we can't just get rid of him for nothing, but to fit in CP3's asking price, who else needs to go besides Ryno?

Don't forget that was all in McHale/Bickerstaff's "offense" as well. MDA would be organizing this. Massive difference there as well.

Not gonna get my hopes up, teams across The Association always get used as leverage and played (fixed)

That said, my hopes aren't raised but my eyebrows are. Is there a CP3/MDA USA Team connection? What is the seemingly incongruous tie that makes this 'a story'???

as if harden plus the endless list of role players the rockets have cycled through was just the answer all these years

Is the story not one of the biggest FA of the offseason considering the Houston Rockets as his destination? Or the fact the MDA gets the perfect PG for his system and in turn moves Harden back to his usual position as the best SG in the league?

The story will be CP3 choses Houston over San Antonio because that was the first team he was linked to after the playoffs and one could argue that would definitely put them in a position to compete for the WCF. Hopefully the same will be said about Houston if we don't have to gut the team to make it happen.

This is why Houston cannot afford to sacrifice depth/shooting ONLY for Paul. You trade Anderson to get the requisite cap room you still have Bev Gordon and Lou. You go the other route and trade those three guys for cap room then you're definitely in a world of hurt shooting wise
