If I'm Boston though why take this risk? They can sign Hayward in FA and keep their pick as well. No sense in trading for a dude who obviously wants to be a Laker.
For Boston it probably makes sense to trade for PG only if they manage convince someone like Hayward or Griffin to sign as FA. . I still don't think PG13 to the Lakers is some kind of foregone conclusion. He probably envision that his presence with the Lakers is enough to attract another elite FA next season & Ingram + Ball either develop nicely or gets flipped for another star. IT+PG13+Hayward/Griffin+Horford should be enough to challenge the Cavs. What if that group actually manage to topple Lebron & reach the finals next year? Would PG13 take a $5.5 million pay cut and jump ship from a contender to a rebuilding team? (this is ignoring the 5th year contract completely. the $5.5 million difference is due to the higher salary % increase due to birds right). What if Ingram fail to improve next year & Ball disappoints? His dream scenario of forming a super team in LA now becomes a impossibility.
I don't get why Cavs would want Faried in that deal with Paul George unless TTBOY is going out. Chris Haynes: One version of potential 3-team trade involving Cleveland, Indiana, Denver, Kenneth Faried would be Cavalier-bound, league sources tell ESPN – via ChrisBHaynes
Cavs need all the help they can get. Limited assets, limited ways of improving so if Denver wants to throw in Faried...why not?
So why would Indiana do this? If that deal goes through with the Cavs getting PG and Faried, with giving up Love and some horrible picks to Indiana then might as well call it a day. It's like when the Jazz helped the Warriors unload Biedrins and them.
Spoiler Stephen A.: He's let word leak to Cleveland that if LeBron indeed elects to stay in Cleveland, he won't depart as long as James is still there. Appears to be the Cavs or Lakers(he said Clippers)
George to the Clippers would be interesting. Drop Doc Rivers..... build a deal around future #1 picks, Austin Rivers..... give the Bulls assets to take Jamal Crawford and run out a team of: Paul DDakota George Griffin Jordan I don't think that the Clippers have enough assets to get George AND keep Jordan by dumping Crawford. I still think that the Cavs will find a way to move Kevin Love and get Paul George...... Paul George is perfect for the Cavs... Kevin Love may find himself in Houston.
Paul George talks candidly about L.A. and says he has no regrets about Lakers popping up as trade destination
I’d be shocked if PG stayed in OKC team is nothing special as is and will be difficult to afford moving forward...OKC being 1 of the worst NBA cities doesn’t help either Thunder fans really seem to believe that he’s staying tho if they make the WCF or have a good series in the 2nd round
Paul George: "You ask 80 or 70 percent of the guys in the league, they would love to go back home and play for their city. That's all I stated. I would love to go back home and play for my city."
