I figure something like that has happened. Morey must not leak to him or something because Woj really doesn't mention us unless he has to. I wonder if stems from Morey giving Dwight exclusives to Amick.
I actually remember Woj tweet saying we would've drafted Tyus Jones two years ago, but turned out we picked up Dekker and he was forced to change the tweet lol
The Rockets do not leak to Woj first. I don't think the Rockets have anything against him, he is just used to getting the scoop from most teams first.
The best possible offer that the Rockets can make for PG to pair him up with Harden IMO is Ariza, Bev, and Capela. I don't think it will get the job done, but it does work on the ESPN Trade Machine. We would lose Bev's toughness, Capela on D, and Ariza's quiet professionalism. And we would need a real big in the front court on top of that too, at the least.
I'm starting to accept that we are not getting PG (late, I know) but that in conjunction with Swaggy P and Rubio threads popping up is truly depressing.
The Rockets were never likely to get Paul George. Having said that, if the Rockets were to make all three players available, they would likely have enough to beat any of the offers know at this time.
I'm fine with losing bev and would actually prefer to lose Ariza. Clint would hurt but hey both sides gotta get value.
Yes, it's most unlikely. I wouldn't make that offer unless PG 13 would sign an extension with us. A rental is too risky.
"They say we can't beat Golden State?....... well see about that mutha *****." - Daryl Morey "George says he won't report? I don't care, send Indiana every player on the roster that doesn't have a beard." - Daryl Morey
Gordon + Mid 2017 1st (for Bev) + Lotto Protected 2019 1st should be better, but Indiana won't bite until the last second. Indiana wants the #2 from LAL. If they are willing to take back Deng, they might be able to get it.
Woj (from @Icehouse's post) Lakers chances have improved over last 24-36 hours. My sense is Indiana doesn't have deals they absolutely love. They're hoping the deal they do between now & the draft, if they do do one, hasn't shown up yet. They're going through what they have now. They'd like better. They need max value for George. A player of that caliber, you have to get every asset you can. Right now, teams are largely unwilling to give up young players or draft picks, good draft picks, for a player they feel will be a rental & leave for LA. You mentioned Kevin Love. That is making the process for Butler, George more difficult for the Cavs. His value is not what it was when he came to Cleveland. The league has changed around him too. There is interest. Teams would love to have him. Phoenix would love to have him but they aren't giving up the 4th pick. A few years ago, maybe, but not now. CC: Longer you wait, you can lose leverage. Especially in this PG situation. Every period they wait, if they don't do it by the draft, they'll lose a little going into FA. If they wait for the season to start, every game he plays in Indiana is one less he's playing somewhere else and teams will give up less. Their chance to get the best deal is today but there has to be a moment of truth in Indiana where we say "This is the best we can do. Swallow hard & trade him." Or they may be more defiant & think we can be more creative & hold onto him longer. I do think there is strong motivation within the Pacers to get something done during tonight's draft. CC: Houston has some players to part with but they only have two seconds. Lakers don't have great talent but two late firsts. Someone asked would I give up #2. No I wouldn't. I like Ball that much. The other thing is you have a player who has expressed he wants to play for you. You're not giving away #2 or Ingram. If they're willing to give up either, they'd already called this deal into the league office. They're not. They got the picks at 27 & 28. Those are late picks. That might be the best they can do. Maybe they have to do that deal in Indiana but they won't jump at that one. That's the one you know you have in the bank & can do later. Indiana has to decide..Randle, if we take him on, do we want to invest $70M-$80M in him? What they started out doing was looking for packages similar to Utah & Denver got for Carmelo & Deron. That isn't out there.
Not totally comfortable with this, but it's from a decent source.. I'd rather Cyber confirm, since this is his thread, but word is PG will be traded today/during the draft. Pacers anticipate moderate rebuild and want picks. I wasn't told where PG is going...still asking. Third team is lingering around talks. Edit: Sorry, this isn't Cyber's thread. I'd rather the OP confirm (or Cyber) my bad.
PG is a selfish player. He will NOT work well with Harden.. Remember when he said to CJ "you don't take that shot, that's my shot" GTFO PLZ no...Id take griffin, maybe millsap.. Also NO to LOWRY...he is way overrated and never shows up in the playoffs Maybe on CP3...I don't see him as a main concern, but he is still good...Im trying to find where we need him Upgrade Ryan Anderson=you must Ariza should come off bench...not consistent enough to start on this team last year and if we get better, he is even further from a starting spot.
