Capela, Gordon, and a future 1st could do it.

Since everyone in the thread is determining the outcome solely by the most recent update that came out, it looks like Rockets are back in the drivers seat

Would rather give up a combination of Lou Williams , Bev or Ariza, hold on to Gordon.

If they have a chance to get Paul George you do it.. Everyone but harden should be available for trade. We are not going to beat the warriors the way this team is currently constructed. I would think if pg is acquired, then CP3 would be next. That would give you PG13, CP3, Harden as a starting core. sure you will probably loose some key role players. but i would take that starting 3 over what we have now, and build from there..
Its all a pipe dream, but would be excited if it happened.

Everyone would agree with you here but you have to send them actual assets, they just don't need Ariza and Lou, maybe Pat...yeah, Pat would actually fit in every enviroment, but still...

Definitely, i agree with you, even though i wouldn't take for granted that if we get George, CP3 come shere 100%, the Spurs are also on him, and IF George is not willing to stay here after the next season, Paul might still think it would be better to sign with the Spurs.

But even then, if Paul doesn't come we would still be able to sign another player like Millsap, Griffin etc so..

    Nothing really new but...

    Woj on Jim Rome

    • Cavs need third teams involved. If Indiana & Chicago are rebuilding, which they are, Kevin Love doesn't appeal to them. They need a third team. That was what they were trying to do yesterday when Griffin was let go.
    • What does the market look like right now? What can they expect to get in return?
      • Indiana is still trying to gauge that at this hour. Indiana started off looking for a substantial return - similar to what Denver & Utah got - but Indiana is...because he made it clear he plans to go to the Lakers & is a rental, teams are willing to give up much less. It's dulled the market. 2 reasons: everyone wants him but how much will you give up for a guy you'll have for one year? Talking to executives, if this was a year where we got Paul George, we can win it all, we'll give up some assets. Because of who Golden State is, the list of teams outside of Cleveland really, there isn't a team out there saying I'm going all in on Paul George because we can beat the Warriors. No one really believes that.
    • Going back to LA is really important to him & he wants to play for the Lakers.
    • Indiana is not dying to give George what he wants here. If someone has a better offer, Indiana sends him to the other place. If the Lakers make the best offer, maybe they need to do that. Lakers want to very much be involved with LeBron James next summer.

    Woj on Rich Eisen:

    Latest on Paul George?

Still soliciting offers around the league. Still in the info gathering stage. I was told moments ago not close on anything. They're sorting through who's serious & who's just sorta dabbling. I do think they would like a deal by the draft but it's possible they won't and then maybe July 1 as the next date that you might want something done by. It's possible something could get done between now & Thursday. It's just that since teams are aware that he wants to go to the Lakers, it has dulled the market. Teams don't want to give up a great deal for a player that will be a rental. There a few teams that think we could maybe flip George. That's what teams are measuring. Everyone has interest but how much will they give up? Indiana is working hard to create a market, a bidding process that can get them the most return for him.

Teams working to battle the Warriors?

Teams like Toronto if they re-sign Lowry & Ibaka, if the Clippers can keep Paul & Griffin...they're trying to contend. The Paul George market, if this was another year & Warriors didn't exist in their super team state, there might be more teams willing to go all in on George for one year. Other than Cleveland, who would like George but needs a third team to do it, I don't think there is a team outside of Cleveland that believes if you give us George, we can beat Golden State. That has made the market less frenzied for George. You gotta keep looking at the long term. You almost have to wait the Warriors out in some ways. That doesn't mean teams aren't trying but I haven't spoken to that team who believes we're one player from beating them.

    LeBron's 2018-19 team?

I don't want to make a prediction. He'll be a free agent. West Coast does intrigue him. Lakers are something he'd look at if he left. So much can change between now & then. It always does. No question Cleveland is concerned about him leaving. That doesn't answer why they left Griffin go but they know it's an issue & a possibility. I don't pretend to know the future.

    No Chance

People are overestimating what it's going to take, as always in these situations

Magic may cave in. He may have to so that he doesn't appear like another Jim Buss crony.

you are probably right., just seems like the rockets would have to overpay a bit to
you are probably right, but for some reason i feel like the rockets would have to overpay to get him.. the Lakers would probably offer one of the 1st round picks this year, and that would be hard to match

I'm guessing Rockets are stuck at Gordon + 1st, Celtics similarly at Bradley + 1st. Basically good players who are expendable/expiring plus the normal 1st you get for a rental.

Indiana might be able to get more from the Lakers even with little leverage.
