Looks like Beltre is returning Monday

We'll see how effective his PEDs are this season.

    2014 - 148 gms -19 HRs
    2015 - 143 gms -18
    2016 - 153 gms - 32

Since this post the Astros are 11-1 and the Rangers are 2-9.

Dammit MadMax. Astros would be 12-0 and Rangers would be 0-11 if you didn't jinx us.

My SA buddies were back in Arlington for the weekend...they are now, quite literally, rooting for the Stros. "They're so fun to watch"

I'll see them in a couple of weeks and I'm buying them hats.

I had Ranger idiots last season telling me Odor and Altuve are equal as far as best 2B in baseball. Nobody in the world thinks Odor is anywhere close to Altuve's level, man they are so STUPID!

I streamed some Rangers audio last week on an Astros day off. They promoted the coming series against the Astros with something like, "Every Western needs a villain, and the villains are coming to town. Get your tickets and help the Rangers take the Astros to justice..." or something along that vein. L. O. L.

And ppl say Dallas doesn't know Houston exists. The baseball world is right-side up again: the Astros are winners, and the Rangers are irrelevant.

I've been in Dallas on business the last few days. Their radio guys are actually being very respectful to the Astros - saying they are the best in the league. They know (and are saying) the Rangers are done ... but holding out hope that "worst-to-first can happen quickly" by citing the Astros!

I agree. dallas sports radio > Houston sports radio. There are a few shock jock wannabes over there but their broadcasts leaves a lot to be desired in Houston.

That sounds like a significant improvement over when I was having to spend loads of time in DFW ten years ago. The sports radio was truly awful then.

damn that beltre post fooled me. thought it was a recent one. Not one to be wishing the heart of the rangers injury on the field but if he were to get on a skateboard inside his house and accidentally crash into a glass door because he thought it was open and miss a month, then that stuff was meant to happen.

YES! This almost makes up for news of Fisher going back down. 1st, Astros likely weren't going to be able to acquire him in a trade. 2nd, if he was traded, it would have likely been to a team that is a lot better than the Rangers that Astros might have to face, 3rd, Rangers don't get prospects for him. 4th, Rangers actually believe in their roster and might ride mediocrity into the dust.

Its not unusual for a team that won the division as recently as last year to be in denial that a rebuild is eminent. The longer they wait to come to that realization, the better for us.

Back in 2006 or 07, the signs were there we needed the same. But it didn't happen right away.

Yeah, their good luck last year fooled them into think they are actually good, and they aren't. They only have 2 starters with an xFIP under 5, and only one, Darvish, under 4.5.

Beltre, LuCroy and Choo are aging. Gallo is hitting under .200, and their farm is bottom tier.
