Yanks have lost 5 in a row, we now sit with a 6.5 game lead for the best in the AL. I think the highest it's been is 7 games so given our lull over the last 2 weeks, other teams aren't taking advantage, shows you just how long a season is. Imagine how big a lead we'll have when Keuchel, McCullers, and Morton come back, we might win the AL by 12+ games.

    1) national game... Stros did "well"
    2) Porcello continued his 7+ ERA level
    3) 5+ runs
    4) Offense stat-padded.. 7 runs
    5) The "bunch" played better as Paulino flipped tonight's chance... primo*.
    6) next up... better health?

    You're welcome, homies.

    * in case mis-recognized previously

Which is probably one reason we are resting Keuchel and Lance

Most of our rivals are no better than 6-4 over their last 10, while we have been 4-6. So we have lost 2 games at most vs most of the league. However, the Rangers have gained 4 games. While not anything to worry about at present, we dont want that trend to continue. If it does, in about 27 games, they will catch us.

The Rangers have won 7 of 8, I feel pretty confident they won't maintain that pace.

OK, this is important... we need Derek Fisher to face off against Matt Barnes today.

I dont think we can win 4 out of 10 on-going and expect to maintain our lead. I am not predicting they will. But we just cant know how the future will unfold. Sure, The Rangers will probably cool down again. But we need to get back to playing .600 (at least) ball again.

No lead is safe if your playing mediocre baseball.

Astros likely win division with room to spare if they can go 45% rest of the way. That said, Astros are likely to get McCullers and Keuchel back shortly and add another starter in about a month. If the best the AL can do is win 60% of the games against the Astros with 80% of the rotation down, the AL is going to have a big problem after the trade deadline and in the playoffs.

I'd like to Like this post 10 more times, in spite of the tremendous depth of injuries, we are still dominating on the mound. Oddly enough it's the hitting that's cost us more games than our pitching.

Astros starters were huge the past 3 games. Fiers still pitching very well and toddlers Martes and Paulino showed great potential.

Fox did the broadcast, but don't recall the commentators.

Verducci was one of them, and he was awesome. Related the story of Paulino being a 19 year old just about to undergo TJ surgery, when Luhnow acquired him for Jose Veras. Dombrowski even had to ask Luhnow "Are you sure you really want this kid?" but of course Astros are "light years" ahead.

Not sure who it was, but it wasn't as bad as Rangers game. Though, it did seem they were implying that the Sox were not hitting because the batter's eye was too busy and that Paulino may have been releasing the ball above the batter's eye from the batter's perspective.

Fox loves the Red Sox! Altuves homer was pretty speechless from both commentators, as if someone just died.

though the production was F- level, the actual broadcast I liked. I didn't know Correa took batting practice with the pitcher that much closer in.
