    One of the jurors
Juror 2: An older white female who manages a White Bear Lake gas station that has a contract with police. She said she had never heard of the Castile case. The judge denied an attempt by prosecutors to strike her after it was revealed that she had pro-police posts on her Facebook page. One of those posts was heavily critical of NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick, who began kneeling during national anthems last year to protest police shootings. She said she had forgotten about the posts.

lol, I thought jurors were supposed to be impartial?

Probably to show the firearm to the police officer, so it was a pretty awful tragedy caused by miscommunication and failure to follow instructions. Something that can happen when you are carrying a firearm in public.

According to the Philando Castile's girlfriend Officer Yanez had asked Castile to show his license and he was reaching for that.

This was stated very early on and is on the facebook live video.

The story I heard said that he was told that before he found out he was armed. After the officer was told he was armed, Castile was told to not reach for anything and put his hands up. It was at that time he reached for something, be it the gun to show the officer or his license, and the officer shot him. He was a totally and completely innocent man and it was a terrible tragedy caused by miscommunication and failure to follow directions. Again, it's the reason I don't carry in public, that kind of BS isn't worth it IMO.

In all of CHL training courses, you are taught to tell the officer that you are carrying while having your hands on the wheel or away from your body. You can then ask the officer how they want to disarm you.

That's exactly what you are supposed to do, and why I don't feel like dealing with that kind of hassle.

reality - teach your kids, especially if black, to be scare of cops, because some cops are scare and trigger happy

that mean, don't do anything that get cops scare. Like, do not move arm fast. Do not move fast. Do not move toward anything that is not in view. Do not move. Said exactly what you are doing if you are moving.

Just ****ing disgusted but not surprised. Cops are rarely convicted of anything no matter the circumstances. They're professional liars who know how to navigate the system.

Especially when they aren't guilty of a crime. It's super rare for them to be convicted when they aren't guilty of a crime and I'm sure you'd like that to change. Please don't go shooting at congressmen due to being upset about this.

If you are black . . . every encounter with the police is like an encounter with a pit bull
You *probably* can move around uninjured but . .. the possibility of injury or death is a distinct possibility

You avoid eye contact or anything to attract their attention
you give them a wide birth
you avoid them at all cost

but once their got your scent . . . . you can be mauled or dead in minutes

Rabid Cops are the bane of African American existance.

From what I read and the cop's own words, he said he saw him reach for and touch the gun like he was pulling it out. That doesn't jive with reaching for your license in your back pocket because no one keeps a gun in their back pocket. I don't get it. But, even the cop said he had tunnel vision once he was told by the guy he had a CHL and a gun on him. The whole dynamic of the thing changed at that point. That's a tough one. I still think the cop overreacted to the situation and just finding him "not guilty" doesn't feel like justice to me. Who is going to pull a gun and shoot a cop with a wife and kid in the car? The guy is no longer going to be a cop on that police force. I guess that is the least they could have done. Lets hope this guy doesn't become a cop somewhere else. It doesn't seem like a good fit. On the flip side, if CHL training says you should keep your hands up or on the wheel when you state you have a CHL with a weapon, then this guy didn't follow that instruction and it cost him his life. He shouldn't have been reaching anywhere at the point.

The cop has every reason to lie . .. . they do do that .. . they lie . . . .to protect themselves
The idea that cops don't lie and are the paragon of honesty and integrity
even when we see evidence of it all the time . . .. is the reason they get off

We give their words far more weight than those of joe citizen
and more and more it is proving to be unearned

Ah that lynch mob mentality that's so popular these days. Even if we can't prove they are guilty they are guilty based soley on the races of the people involved and their occupations. You would have thought this kind of thinking was a relic of a barbaric past, but the nostalgia surrounding this kind of thinking has brought it back strong. Good job!

They put what sounds like two kids in a room with
this crone and others of similar mindset . . . .no way those kids weren;t bullied into this verdict

Juror 1: Young black male who works as a shift manager at Wendy’s and personal care attendant for his mom. He said he’s never had a run-in with police; he believed the wealthy and powerful could get off in the legal system because they could hire better attorneys.

Juror 8: An 18-year-old Ethiopian-American female who immigrated to America when she was 10. She said she had not heard about the Yanez case before jury selection and doesn’t watch the news. The defense tried to strike her due to unfamiliarity with the U.S. legal system, but the judge denied the attempt

These are your black jurors Per - http://www.startribune.com/the-yanez-jurors-a-snapshot/428447093/
