Not sure if I heard correctly, but.... "Fisher became the 6th player in league history to get his first 2 hits in the same inning"
Martes and Fisher were impressive. I wish the Astros could have spread these hits throughout the series. A feel good game. The first time I have witnessed an entire series this season. It ended well.
I THINK they said since some particular year, but don't remember which. Seems like it was in the 80s.
Absolutely. Not saying he's the next George Springer, but it is a great way to start your major league 1974
Lost the series but not bad like Well that softens it. Great debut still. Maybe the 6th Ever when incluring the walks... with a rookie SP debut, on a Wednesday, vs Rangers.
Big win tonight. Not that a loss would have been some disaster but its nice to keep a strong heisman going even during a rough patch. We dont have to start stressing and make poor choices and nobody feels they are chasing us down.
Kalas said he was the first to get 2 hits in the same inning in his debut (different from what was posted above) since Adam LaRoche...which I'd imagine was 2005ish
Why would you be pulling for the Yankees? Sure the Angels are in our division, but they're way behind us right now. The Yankees are the team we're battling right now for the best record in the AL (which means home field throughout the playoffs).
But you forget that the Astros, and Dallas Keuchel, own Yankee Stadium. Also, unless the Yankees get more starting pitching... I expect them to fade while Baltimore/Boston takes over the division lead.
The way we've played on the road vs home lately maybe it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to lose home field...
Not sure if Yankees will hold off Boston or not, but the Yankees are getting at least one SP at the deadline.
All I know is I hope the Yankees, Red Sox, and Indians lose every night. The Yankees may fade but come playoff time I would prefer the 'Stros have home field throughout the playoffs even though we've played well on the road thus far.
Have you ever been to MMP during a playoff game?? It's hands down one of the most electric ballparks in any of the 3 sports during the post-season. Having homefield throughout the entire playoffs would be HUGE. There is absolutely no reason to root for the Yankees, Red Sox, or Indians at this point.....even if they are playing against an AL West team.
Yes, I've been to many in the Astrodome and MMP...went to game three of the World Series where Blum hit that HR in extra innings. And I was kidding, obviously everyone wants home field.
