It's not a lie. It's just he's stupid. Too stupid to lie. Too stupid to commit a crime.

Trump, where being stupid is acceptable / understandable reasons for his lies and criminal behaviors.

No no no. Quit being so negative about Trump.

It's really just his personality and people aren't used to it.

I'm satisfied with Session's testimony. Just a witch hunt for Trump's tax returns and those long sought-after absentee ballots floating around somewhere off of the Florida coast.

"And I would've released them, too, if hadn't been for that pesky audit!"

Was that Jeff Sessions testifying or Sergeant Hanz Schultz? My man can't remember nothing about Russians. Nothing.

But +1 for further establishing precedent for executive branch members refusing to answer congressional questions without invoking executive privilege. It may not be by design, but that is the road we are on.

Sessions stonewalled and stonewalled, making sure the senators had little time to ask questions. They had 5 minutes each. It was maddening. The man said little of consequence and repeatedly answered, "I can't recall." The little weasel has had plenty of experience doing this sort of thing.

Yep, and the worst was that he couldn't explain on what legal grounds he was refusing to answer their questions.

He had no legal basis, in my opinion. Executive privilege wasn't being used. He kept referencing some arcane Justice Department rule that no one on the committee had ever heard of, and that Sessions didn't bring a copy of. Burr let him get away with it.

    Expectation:
Sessions: "I did not have electoral relations with that Ruskie."

    Reality:
Sessions: "I do not remember... I cannot recall... my pappy Donald said not to speak."

The dude does not come across as very intelligent. And I don't mean b/c of his accent or the weird Gumpian lisp thing -- it just looks like governance, and maybe life in general, is just a very confusing, difficult experience for the little guy. He should be changing mufflers somewhere in Alabama, not posing as the chief law enforcement officer of the land.

Sad, sad days, friends. Very sad days.

This is looking more and more inevitable by the day. When does Trump not get his way and let his aids tell him what to do?

Rodenstein (acting AG who would have to fire Mueller on behalf of Trump) all but said today that he would not fire Mueller and seemed to indicate he'd resign and let someone under him fire Mueller for him in a recreation of the Saturday night massacre. I'd be shocked if Trumps staff and Sessions aren't already looking for that weak link in the DOJ.

Question is will the Trump base actually go along with this if Trump makes it happen? Would Trump retain enough of his base in the polls to allow Ryan and McConnell to keep Trump in office, or would the chaos that would ensue with "Stupid Watergate" and the inevitable chaos with Congress taking the lead on the investigation finally be enough to say enough is enough?

Or has the Republican Party that once was fallen so far off the cliff that they'd allow this to happen and support Congress taking over and burying the investigation right in the faces of the American people where we can honestly say at that point "Democracy is Dead"?

I'm ****ing tired of this 'Trump is not under investigation' shtick. Does Cotton and his Ilkthink we are THAT stupid.

Stating that Trump is not under investigation is the same as stating that a mob boss is currently not under investigation but multiple associates that work under him are.

Maybe Cotton does this for the base.aybr he understands that there are Commodores of the world who will eat this **** up.

There is not doubt in my mind that Trump and Sessions are secret agents for Russia. Probably since the cold war. It will come out eventually. Tuscaloosa has always had a big number of Russian immigrants.

I don't think he's a secret agent and nobody I know does. Just stop it.

The investigation is on the Russian hacking and any help they might have had from the Trump campaign. Most I know think through the reporting that Flynn, and maybe Mannafort with their ties could see some minor charges but likely Trump was a useful idiot with some financial baggage.

My gut and knowledge of the situation tells me Trump should prepare for a poltical hit of "my opponent had members of his campaign get Indicted" but likely have the ability to walk away exonerated with a GOP that supports you IF you are a big help in getting their agenda done and have support from. They can always say "Bill Clinton committed a crime and didn't need to be removed".

What I care about mostly though is ensuring my vote counts next time I go to vote in two years and the voting machines haven't been hacked which I guess you don't care about.

But answer me this question since we are all idiots to you apparently and can't figure it out on our own.

If he's as innocent as you seem to think he is of any and all crimes (obstruction, money laundering through shell LLC's in Trump tower, etc. all included), why in the world would he be dumb enough to even think about firing a special prosecutor? In what world would that NOT scream I'm guilty and needlessly put him in a position to be removed? As if firing Comey (and admitting it was about the investigation ) was not enough.

Enlighten us since we at apparently just a joke to you.

You scientists were so preoccupied with whether you could combine the DNA of Forrest Gump, a Keebler elf and Foghorn Leghorn, you never stopped to think if you should.

I don't think you are an idiot. I will give y'all the benefit of doubt and wait for some collusion evidence to surface.

Trump could declare martial law, dissolve congress, and take ownerships of the courts. His base would still support him.
