pitching is kind of important. the main culprit for our four losses. this past week. Can we clone devo?
Something about this team we just love getting cuckolded at home by weaker teams. I'm also up for replacing Gattis with Centeno at this point. A catcher's job is to make pitchers better, not just go through the motions. It's no wonder we didn't use this guy when we had Conger and Castro on the roster.
We need to preserve Devo and Harris for the long haul. The rest of the bullpen is just gonna have to suck it up for this rough stretch. We can always add middle relief if we need it.
It's amazing how people want to complain about Hinch anytime we lose or are losing. The same people think we should just throw Devenski every game like it's a video game and then also will complain when he finally does get hit saying it's Hinchs fault for overusing him. We have 4 SP on the DL and seemingly every guy in our pen other than Harris and Devo have been shaky recently...it's up to Lunhow to go get another SP who can last 5 innings unlike Peacock and Paulino.
In tight situations like that you have to put Harris, or Gregerson. Those players has experience to close innings. I do not trust any of the pitchers that hasn't closed games when opponents are rallying.
When it was 6-3 I had a confident feeling about this game. Now. I don't. I think the offense shot their wad and they are done for the day. We will see
Thuan the reason Lunhow needs to start making phone calls. We need a starting pitcher regardless of who all is healthy. Let's get one so we can stop running AAA prospects out there only to crap on their confidence.

The Astros are expecting to have Keuchel, McCullers, Morton, McHugh, Musgrove, Fiers and another pitcher we trade for all available in the second half of the year. It sucks that we are getting such short outings right now, but we don't expect pitching depth to be an issue for the back half of the year. As long as we don't overuse Devo and Harris right now, I don't expect this to impact the long term viability of our pen.
