Is anyone surprised that it is a shitshow? Cruise has been hit or miss for the better part of a decade. Here's a rundown of his movies the past 10 years:

    Good Movies
    • MI: Rogue Nation
    • Edge of Tomorrow
    • Jack Reacher
    • Oblivion
    • Valkyrie
    Bad Movies
    • The Mummy
    • Jack Reacher 2
    • Rock of Ages
    • Knight & Day
    • Lions for Lambs
His roll in Tropic Thunder tips the scale, but it was really only a cameo - he was far from a leading man it. His movies have also been either universally praised, or universally panned. Oblivion is the only one in a decade hovering near 50% on RT. I loved it, so I put it in my good flicks list.

American Made looks like a copy cat movie too. Weapons dealer has been done already by Lord of War and War Dogs. With Top gun, MIA, American Made, and Mummy, that is 4 in row that are essentially remakes and redones. But I trust in Cruise. Think it will be cool enough to go see Mummy and all of them anyway, because when he does hit, he hits a homerun generally. Still a charasmatic grin/smile too.

I liked that movie as well. Not sure why it got all the hate. I thought Cruise and Diaz had good chemistry.

How could Crowe and Cruise have thought this would be a good project when they signed on? I mean does anyone in the world think this had the possibility of even being a decent film?

I enjoyed it. Just a goofy action throwback film. Also glad that this takes place within the same universe of the Brendan Fraser movies.

The book of the dead from the Fraser films is in Russell Crowe's library

that's it? well realistically the characters from the original mummy franchise must've been long dead by now, so that makes things difficult.

was hoping the bad guys from the original ones (mummy, scorpy, chinese mummy) would escape the underworld and assemble. like a mummy avengers.

That money looks lucrative when creating a multi-movie action universe. Universal is playing catching up to what Marvel and DC has done and looks like the opening movie shat the bed.

I actually thought the trailers looked interesting and was hopeful this would be a good Cruise movie. Oh well.

Honestly don't understand how people don't see a movie for what it is.

A chance to sit down for a couple of hours and forget about everything.

I gave up critiquing things when I graduated high school and finished Advanced, Extension I and II English classes.

    I enjoyed it.
