Personally I think the easiest way to have prevented those pesky Ruskies from meddling in our election was to have Hillary and her DNC not engage in unethical and corrupt behavior.
In the government, or in the DNC? There's not much the government could do to prevent Russians from hacking private organizations and airing their dirty laundry.
I don't have all the answers. I wouldn't have liked it if the GOP had been hacked either. Its our election and I don't like that it was interfered with.
So that's why Putin hacked the DNC? He's a crusader looking to save our democracy from corruption? Stop over thinking things. Putin took a low risk chance on destabilizing the US which serves a Multitude of self serving interests. In Putins wildest dreams he couldn't have imagined a better outcome except for the WH being able to have successfully lifted sanctions which they tried to do FYI.
No way. Had there been any inclination Hillary stole the election through treasonous activity it would have torn this country apart with the outrage on the right and the actual power the GOP would still have. I like believing my vote counts and that we still have power in numbers in this country. Free and fair elections are essential to that. I'd be just as upset if it was the other way around and would hope Hillary would have fought back (peacefully) unlike what Trump is doing now in cowering to Putin like a trained dog. It's upsetting the right doesn't feel that way too but I'm getting over it. Alot of them chose Party over country a long time ago.
Russia LOVES guys like bigtexx and bobbythegreat. The country can commit crimes and invade the privacy of private citizens/companies in America and apparently that should be tolerated. The rightful response would be the US making it clear that if crimes are committed against Americans by Russia, there will be consequences. That's exactly what Obama did with those sanctions, until Trump lifted them.
I think it sucks for the DNC that they got hacked and their dirty laundry got aired but I dunno if that's the kind of "interference" that I'd be really worried about. If the Russians or whatever hacked the RNC and aired their dirty laundry I would think that it sucked for them too, but when it's exposing the truth or even setting up troll farms to compete with the troll farms of the RNC and DNC....that's the type of "interference" that I'm least worried about. A type of interference where ballot boxes actually got hacked and votes were changed would be much more concerning because that would actually be a way to "steal" an election. Also I'm getting mixed signals from some people when it comes to those types of things. On one hand, they'll say that the DNC hacks by the Russians "stole the election" and they'll denounce them while seconds later they'll be rubbing one out about a leak if it happens to paint Trump in a bad light....even if it's not accurate information. It really does seem like the selective outrage has to do more with who benefits and who suffers a setback than it does about any principle.
So is the outrage that the Russians tried to hack the election? I could have sworn it was that Trump colluded with the Russians to win the election. Now I guess it is obstruction of justice since we are starting to see the big picture that Trump did not "collude" with the Russians. The goalpost keeps moving. If we are going to investigate the Russian interference, why the predisposed narrative that Trump is guilty? The media is day after day and night after night speculating about what Trump did and they have not produced one shred of evidence he did anything. Trump is guilty of being a scumbag, no argument there but our election choices were between two scumbags who have both led crooked lives. As for the link you posted, does it bother you that our government is leaking information like a sieve from "anonymous" sources? Does it bother you that American citizens were "unmasked" and then their names leaked to the media during this investigation? Does none of that matter since it is Donald Trump that is the target? The media has painted this narrative that Trump is guilty and has yet to show any proof except speculation, lies, and half truths from information leaked to the media that should never be leaked. Everybody who testifies is going to be the one who brings Trump down and yet nothing yet except we now know what we all already knew that Trump is a weird, insecure person with a huge ego. One more thing, in another post you mentioned the DNC hacks. Does it seem funny to you given this entire situation that a private firm was used to investigate those hacks instead of the FBI?
LOL... such an empty threat from Predisent Trump's brainy lawyer: Trump's personal lawyer to file complaint after Comey testimony , source says http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...plaint-after-comey-testimony-source-says.html Again, Trump and his shyster lawyer can bluster all they want, but Comey was careful to not release confidential information, but rather his own private notes from the conversation with Trump. The shyster should know that. Comey knows it, and and lawyer that Comey choose to represent him will know it.
And much like the earlier Slate Magazine article, this Atlantic Magazine article shoots down the Predisent Trump lawyer threat to Comey about "leaking" along with a few other Trump "defenses": The Five Lines of Defense Against Comey—and Why They Failed https://www.theatlantic.com/politic...ense-against-comeyand-why-they-failed/529743/
I'm a registered Republican (voted Gary Johnson), and Trump is a clown. He is running the presidency as a sleazy CEO, not realizing that as a member of the private sector - everything he says and does is public record. Comey testifying under oath that he lied, just confirmed what we all know. Trump is a megalomaniac that hates to lose, and he'll do whatever he can to try and not lose. Also, Jeff Sessions agreeing to leave Trump in the room alone with Comey is beyond reprehensible. I think we all see now why Sally Yates refused to assist Trump with defending his executive order.
Please don't sit there and accuse everyone of essentially partisan outrage over the news of the day and then act like "the leaks" and "the unmasking" is one of the 7 deadly sins. We know you didn't even know what unmasking was before 6 months ago. We aren't idiots to see beyond your partisan games. Are non-Trump voters not supposed to talk about and discuss the news of the day? Are you really trying to sit here and tell us we shouldn't discuss news like the president telling the FBI director to "let it go" reg an investigation and demanding loyalty? As for "moving the goalposts"... dude this isn't a game. This is the president of the United States. We know what we know when we know it. Are people not allowed to also discuss suspicion due to circumstance??... circumstance like the president himself in his own words encouraging Russian hacking on like TV? Guilty of crimes or not, please stop trying to act like everyone else is going crazy with conspiracy theory and then at the same time you yourself pull out a partisan witch hunt of the "Benghazi" of the day.
And those on the left try so desperately hard to distance themselves on the root of the issue. Instead of focusing on the real issue, which is Putin despises Clinton, you all want to paint this picture Trump is literally in bed with Putin. As to date, there is no evidence of a Trump/Russia connection (but we are still investigating Trump) As long as the left wants to continue this Russia mantra, I will remind them of why we are still talking about it. Russia exposing dirty DNC business. Its been nine months and little to no evidence and we are still BENGHAZI .. i mean RUSSIA RUSSIA RUSSIA. Its time to move on from this subject.
