Agree he has to go if you want to take the next step. But, you have to replace him with someone who shoots 3s well as well.

He forgot he had this skill throughout the entire playoffs. Which is a problem

    Mind blown!

    Agreed.

This team has 2 of the best 25 3pt shooters in the NBA history. Ryan Anderson is one of them, Eric Gordon is another.

It's not going to matter who we bring in. We're looking at 1960's Celtics levels of domination with the Warriors. The Spurs are the only organization currently equipped to try.

I really don't want to see a handful of aging stars looking for a paycheck to come here.

Complete tank is the only way. That means James is the first to go.

Complete tank wouldn't get us past the Warriors for at least 5-6 years, if it worked at all. Might as well go for it while Harden is here and hope one of the GSW core bolts. There is also the possibility of an injury one year that we could be in position to capitalize on if we continue to improve this team.

My super secret source says Harden has recruited CP3, Blake Griffin, and Durant. All have high interest in signing veteran minimum contracts to play with the great James Harden. Steven Curry also wanted to join the rockets but Harden called him a fake mvp, fake pg, and fraud who can't dunk when he's 6'4''. Not rocket material.

Even what you said is true, and plus LeBron, that would still be not enough to win a title.

Yes it would. What other team would come close? CP3 running d'antoni's offense.

    PG: CP3, Bev
    SG: Harden, Gordon, Lou
    SF: Durant, Ariza, Dekker
    PF: Griffin, Ryno, Trez
    C: Capella, Nene

That's an easy 150pts per game

I have nothing against Anderson. He's a stand up guy, a hard worker and overall solid player. We've coveted a true stretch four years and we finally went out and got one. The problem? He's not worth $20M/year. He's a little better and more valuable than his meager stat line indicates due to his ability to stretch the floor, but the reality is this: there are attainable players that could do what Anderson does and NOT cost us $20M/year.

If we're going to make an upgrade this offseason it will most likely come at one of the forward spots. The shoe fits.

No matter how you slice it, this is true. Ryno can play stretches as a starter. Ryno can even close out 4th quarters with the team, but moving forward we need a real forward. This is why it's so critical to get a guy like Blake to play alongside Harden. If we can't score that type of player, then I'm not sure what we do.

Like who? One of Anderson's best qualities is his ability to shoot from way behind the 3pt line. Not only does that give Harden more space, but it allows us to stick Ariza and Beverley in the corners since their range isn't as good.

I can't believe we're at this point, but I'm not wasting so much time watching damn near every game if we don't get an impact player. The talent gap is so large with GS.. just a waste of time atm.

It's a myth that there are many players who can hit 40% of 7+ s point attempts. There are no more than 10-15 of them in the NBA.

Take someone like Troy Daniels. He can't hit those numbers in practice, but his weaknesses make it impossible to leave him on the floor for 30 minutes to get up that many shots. Another example is Kyle Korver who has achieved something similar once in his life, and it was 10+ years ago. Kevin Durant came closest last season hitting 39% of almost 7 attempts.

The only people who were better or close last season? Stephen Curry, Isaiah Thomas, Eric Gordon, Klay Thompson, Kyle Lowry, Kemba Walker, Bradley Beal, Nick Young and in the same territory is also Damian Lillard and JJ Reddick. That's just 10 players. For argument's sake, let's say you rate another 5 guys as good or better at shooting.

You're going to notice something about that list: none of these guys are Forwards and probably no one in the league shoots from further out than Ryan Anderson.

So you have to understand that Ryan Anderson is elite at stretching the floor from the PF spot. When you combine an elite skill like that with a couple of above average skills (effort, offensive rebounding, role acknowledgement) then even with all the weaknesses he has you have to understand that it is not possible to replace him with someone who's current production is worth less than $18-20m on a non-rookie contract.

I would like to upgrade at the position - desperately in fact - but it's going to be tough. If we're unable to upgrade, I want to see Harden take 1-2 fewer 3 point attempts and Anderson taking 2-3 more. Anderson is all about shooting, so let's let him SHOOT MORE. As a starter playing 30 minutes, this dude needs to be taking 10 3pt attempts per game and he will earn $15-$18m worth of salary. I would also have him take summer physical training more seriously - at his game speed, there is absolutely no reason why he shouldn't have more muscle on those bones. It's not like he's guarding anyone quick, so might as well improve his ability to guard strong players and the right training/fitness MIGHT actually give him extra quickness. Pretty shocking to me he didn't do this earlier in his career. He also needs to stop taking that f'in fadeaway which is just a train-wreck. It produces no space for the shot, doesn't fake anyone out, he gets no height on it and he does not make it at an even average rate. Improve it off court before bringing it back onto the court. For the time being, if you have to shoot inside, just go straight up and shoot as high as possible.

And everyone knows that "all FAs" are willing to give up HALF of their salary in order to win a ring.

As proof, here is a complete list of FAs who have done that in the past...

    1. Charles Barkley*

    * And to this day, he won't shut the f%$k up about it.

That is not how a championship roster looks like. As I said, even you add in LeBron to that lineup. still not enough. There is only one ball on the court.
