    when I saw the Stros celebrating on the field in the rain a couple nights ago, I could hear my long-deceased grandmother's voice saying, 'Better get out of that rain or you're gonna catch a cold!' Maybe there was some real wisdom there...

    Vargas is a tough customer... and LHP.

    Against us earlier this season... 6 IP / 1 R / 1 ER / 1 BB / 6 K

    We play better on the road, so there's that

    I can see the Astros going for him ala Kazmir deal.

    He's also like 34..... could be one of those lucky years and he dies. Good rental tho.

    Strictly a reliever since coming to America. He made 8 starts with the Venezuelan Summer League Astros all the way back in 2008.

    Both. But think lately a reliever. 1.93 era in 4 games.

    Either way.............. he will be out by the 5th inning. Bats better be swinging, it's going to be a tough game vs Vargas.

    yep, and I believe that started as a game where our starter had to leave in the first inning with an injury.
