    Who was talking about the ratings possibly being crap, thus forcing the NBA to do something? Because they'd be wrong!

    So game 1's ratings were down vs a year ago, but game 2's ratings were up vs a year ago.

    Game 3 may very well go down vs last year, but it doesn't seem like people are giving up on this product, even with superteams aplenty. -_-

    I think the truer test will be next year. you have to remember, this was a hugely hyped series. last year's series was hyped but relatively boring. then LeBron made it epic and ratings soared in the final games. this series was what the entire nba season was supposed to be built around. the nba was saved by a surprising regular season with a great mvp race (between non-contenders no less) and the most offensively-efficient season in nba history with some of the highest scores and biggest stats we've ever seen. but this season was about this series. and the teams did nothing to dissuade us of that notion by going 12-0 and 12-1 into the finals. superteams or not, the casual fan had no indication that this would be this boring. you would think this would be blowing last year's games out of the water. but if golden state completes the expected sweep with 4 blowouts, then we see if anything happens. if sentiment shifts. if a less interesting regular season than what we just experienced drags down ratings. if people don't come back for episode 4.

    maybe it won't. and if it doesn't, then I guess I just have to accept this is what the casual fan wants. adam silver certainly isn't going to say "man, I love all this money, but f4p is complaining. what can we do to fix this 'too much money' problem?"

    That sounds right to me. In Game 2, they were right there through 3.5 quarters. So what is there to change?

    At some point there isn't really any more adjustments you can make. Only just play hard and hope the other team has an off game.
