Of course there would be crow, but that situation is not going to happen anytime in the foreseeable future..

If you can't eat crow, what should you eat? Seagull?

We just need to get him on a hot streak in the playoffs.

I could see Altuve and Springer flip-flopping, but I don't think you change one of the best streaks ever for the Astros.

I feel like we take teams out of the game mentally alot by getting these early springer leads. Like today the Rangers looked checked out after the 2nd inning.

He might be batting 0.700 with 40 RBIs in those 9 games if he was in the 5 spot.

    Why?

I can't think of any team ever having their best home run hitter in the lead off spot.

Is there a way to prepare crow, or will we have to eat it raw?

    On Pace Guy says:

George is on pace for .280 / 45 / 105 with 122 runs and the Astros are on pace for like, a billion wins. I think he's fine where he is.

Mike Trout led the Angels one year in HRs as their leadoff hitter.

The one that came to mind for me was Brady Anderson (when he hit 50 HR).

After they led their teams in HR's did they continue to hit lead off, or were they moved back in the line up?

Trout moved down to #2 and then eventually to #3; Brady stayed in the leadoff spot in future years. Neither was moved during the season.

So if Springer does lead the team in HRs this year, maybe next year, we revisit the discussion?

I personally like the idea of having Springer lead off. I think pitchers have no room to get comfortable to start the game.

If they miss a pitch on even the first pitch of the game it really has a chance to be hit 450 feet in to the bleachers. It adds a bit more emotional stress to these major league pitchers.
