There's too much time between pitches sometimes, but non-fans expect a pitch to be thrown every 3 seconds... Lol. Best way for beginners to experience baseball is with the volume ON. There's something going on at all times, even when no runners on, and batter/pitcher is working a count.
After tonight; Altuve is 4th in BA Correa is 10th in BA and tied for 4th in RBI Gonzalez unfortunately doesn't qualify for the BA title, but he'd be 10th and Correa 11 if so. He's also tied for 12th with Springer in the RBI department Keuchel leads the majors in wins and ERA McCullers still 4th in the league in ERA while tied for 4th in wins (if he just got one more out he'd be tied for 2nd) Giles second in the league in Saves It's good to be an Astros fan.
It takes time to adjust from the pace of NBA basketball, but once you get used to it there is plenty of tension in games. Then, as you get more familiar with the players/situations, there is the added element of judging all the managers decisions. Stick around....
The pitching staff is on pace to obliterate the all time strike out record by over 100. They are averaging 10+ per game.
Joel Sherman suggested the Astros trade for Justin Verlander (Starter), Justin Wilson (Lefty reliever) and JD Martinez (LF) ! I actually like it. This would probably put the 'Stros over the top... this is the year, of all freaking years, to go for it. No WS win in over 50 years of existence-- this could be our opportunity. I say go for it.
yeah that is the question. Luckily, we are having some good years from guys we weren't expecting much from. I think Fisher, Paulino, and probably one of either Tucker or Martes would be a start. Honestly, I'd be good with Verlander and Wilson. Not sure we need JD--but thats me. Verlander is signed through 2019/2020 i think, Martinez is in his last year, and not sure of Wilson.
What is the record for consecutive road games won? They mentioned it during the game, but I can't seem to find it online. Does anyone know the link? Unless I heard wrong, I think we just tied or broke a record dating to 1969. Astros on fire and loving it!!!
At this time last year, the Cubs were 38-15 (finished 103-58). This year Houston is 40-16. We maybe able to rest Altuve, Correa and Springer by the All-Star Break
if Tuve is not starting at 2B by next week....i'm going to be pissed. Not to mention Correa at short.
Well that one had a little bit more excitement to end the game.....we've blown everybody out so often lately I forgot what a close game felt like. 18K's....new season high.
