Yeah, I am for a rebuild like the type mentioned... DEPENDING on the return. I f its a deal like you proposed, absolutely. If it's D'Angelo Russell and the Lakers pick this year... pass. I just think your posting style is so over the top that's why you get "accused" of things. I mean it's one thing to criticize a guy, and another thing all together to suggest things would improve a lot by bringing in Ricky Rubio over and over again
I don't buy the dynasty hype. If teams throw money at Iguodala and Livingston this summer - which is likely going to happen - the Warriors are down to four men. They finally have to pay Curry, Durant might give them a little discount, but not as much as they could match a high offer for these two. The free agency class of 2017 is pretty underwhelming, so they're not going to find quality replacements as well.
IF THE ROCKETS CAN SOME HOW GET......SERGE IBAKA AND GORDON HAYWARD, we can catch the Dubs. I know it's not probable but those two players are in their mid to late 20's and they have to realize if they want to win a Championship, they are going to have to team up with a top 10 player. Boston is another probability but I think Harden offers more than IT (HE'S TOO SMALL AND HE'S A BALL STOPPER) I know Harden is hard on the eyes sometimes with his play but when he's tuned-in, he is a top 5 - 10 player.
Some dude at the bar last night was a lakers fan watching the cavs and warriors He was talking about a scenario where harden and Westbrook signed in LA and the lakers them traded harden for kawhi So this dude traded harden and he isn't even on his team It was mind blowing
Quick blow for Offense and traded for Defensive purposes. Forget Harden. They probably should get Giannis, and picks for another star or two. Build for the future.
IT is no more of a ball stopper than harden, if anything harden is more of one when he dribbles in one place for his step backs
Livingston was 1-5 in 15 minutes last night. He's basically Speights-like. A guy off their bench that seems better than he is because of the squad he's on. The Warriors will offer him a smaller amount if he wants to stay, but won't concern themselves if he moves on. Iggy is important off the bench. But there's already a thread in the dish on the projected GSW salary. Since Klay/Dray are locked in relatively cheaply for the next two years, the Warriors could probably resign Iggy at the same $11 million a year, fill out the roster with McGee/Zaza/West/Barnes like vet minimum guys who will all perform admirably enough. Even if they don't, KD/Steph/Dray/Klay as a 4 some is so good that even if they don't win every year, they are likely Finals participants every year. And even if that doesn't happen... ... the Rockets currently can't beat a Spurs squad led by LMA and Jonathan Simmons...
Yeah that's fine. I think it's over the top for you and other posters to deny for years that we need another point guard that can make plays and create for others over and over again. I think that's way over the top when we find ourselves at the same point every season of Hardens tenure. Even after this latest debacle you probably still think we don't need a playmaking point alongside James. And now to double down you want Thu trade Harden. Talk about over the top. That's off the reservation and leaving the planet. So when posters like that post nonsense like trading Harden after denying for years he needs another creative distributor to help him run the offense I just continue with my over the top rhetoric because I like it better than their schizo over the top garbage.
Livingston has been an important contributor off the bench and is their only playmaker other than Curry. If Austin Rivers can land a $12M/year deal, Livingston might as well. Also don't think $11M are enough to keep Iggy. Remember, the Sixers were willing to pay $16M for Ginobili last summer and the Spurs had to increase their offer. Teams are already lining up to sign Iguodala. Even if - yes, they still would be very good, but no depth at all decreases the chances to become guaranteed champions until 2022 a little. Rockets disappointed, let's not forget though the Warriors didn't came out of the tunnel as the Warriors either. They lost to the Spurs in the 2013 Conference Semis and the Clippers in the 2014 First Round.
livingston is not. far from it. do you believe this just bc he's labled as a "PG" on a roster. GS has a variety of guys that can make plays bc of their versatility. Livingston's primary worth for GS isn't even playmaking so they wouldn't be missing him in that area. It's his mismatch against opponents guards offensively, specifically 2nd units
Wouldn't it be easier to just introduce baseball to Durant and see if he'll retire for a few years chasing his dream?
We could argue about the term and for sure Livingston is not a playmaker in the CP3-meaning, not with 1.8 assist anyway, but he still has the highest USG% of all their bench guys with relevant minutes.
Please. No more 42-40, 14th pick mediocrity treadmill. You know Les and Morey will NEVER full out tank for high draft picks. Ride Harden out, try to make the team as good as possible without sacrificing our future, and if it doesn't happen then it doesn't happen.
and that usage primarily goes to exactly what i said previously. "It's his mismatch against opponents guards offensively, specifically 2nd units"
I don't think we do or don't need a playmaking PG to pair with Harden. I don't think it matters. Harden either is the recognized or de facto PG here. Ricky Rubio or CP3 on this team aren't going to all of a sudden make Harden have lower ball usage or run a motion offense. Harden is the alpha and culture setter on this team. So if we are looking at a championship with Harden, it's up to him maturing and adjusting his game. And in that event no a Ricky Rubio type as a PG would not be helpful. ... Which is why I am fine with moving on... PLUS the state of the league.
Get another star, make deep runs in future playoffs. Have an outside shot at a finals appearance if 2 or more stars go down for GSW in the playoffs.
