It is apparent that naivety is no longer an option, and dishonesty is clearly your only intent. Which seems a shame, to have it proven out on a political discussion board that you can't avoid being dishonest in you attempts to argue your political positions. But this aligns with Trump's approach... when the facts don't support his positions, he simply lies and attacks those that present facts.

But case in point... your first "point": "whats with all the tweets from Musk and others?" Who is arguing that climate change isn't real (well, who besides Trump, Steve Bannon, and since Syria is the only other country not agreeing to the Paris Agreement... I guess the 'stop" scientific minds in Syria must question climate change).

Your second point: "...saying 'climate change is real and a threat' if the goal of this is not to address climate change?" Again, are Musk and others saying climate change is THE goal. I would inerpret their positions instead as addressing climate change and the threats related to climate change are A goal.

But these are inteprestations of other people's positions and as such, open to some debate. its your your third point (and trust me... presenting me as a key spokesman and discussion point is a compliment)... "NewRox has admitted this Paris **** has nothing to do with climate change. Apparently it has to do with air pollution because it doesn't do anything for climate change".

Perhaps this compelling argument might be even more compelling if you provided a quote of me saying the Paris **** (Agreement, Accord, or heck, city) has to do ONLY with pollution. And where I said it has nothing to to do with climate change. You see, I have posted a lot on the topic, and its possible I may have argued either of the points you make. But I sure don't remember doing so. And if I haven't, you have outright lied.

So please, present quotes of me posting either of these points so to help my aging memory. Or to defend your integrity. Which at this point your integrity is looking worse than my aging memory...

I had to take down two of my trees this year because they were littering up my pool, dropping thousands of acorns, and killing my grass making it hard to maintain. I had five trees at one time. Now, I only have one small one.

I admit...I'm the problem. More trees...less CO2. If everyone lived in tree houses instead of processed trees made into houses, then the Earth would be saved! Yay! o_O

I no longer know what is right from wrong. Thanks, Trump! Just spin it to suit your needs and make whatever great again.

Trump pulling out of the PCA is about the least shocking thing he has done. He has wanted to since day 1.
He finally found something he can do that the other branches of government cannot stop him from doing.

As for the idea that all of Europe is mad....... Putin isn't.

the right is the group that is "programmed to oppose" here. They don't even understand what's included in the Paris agreement.

Interesting op-ed that counsels supporters of Paris Agreement to "rest more easily"...

Opinion: Everyone will survive Trump’s climate mistake — except Big Coal

I read that and it's less fact checking and more spinning different statements. Like the point where it's talking about how China can keep building more coal plants and the US can't.....it brings up that it was a non binding agreement meaning that we can technically do what we want but it was clear the statement was made with the assumption that parties were going to honor their agreement.....so really it's saying countries like China can be well within the agreement and continue to build hundreds of additional coal plants and the US can't do so without failing to meet targets agreed to.

Basically it's trying to spin a true statement into a false statement which means that it's not really fact checking at all it's political spin....and that's why you like it (assuming you even read it)

I don't know where you got any of that from.

    I'm merely pointing out that:
    • The only person stopping you from becoming vegan is absolutely yourself
    • The cost to become vegan is absolutely nothing
I think that speaks towards people's motivation, priorities, and values on this issue.

Trump is clearly a great "leader" at home and abroad. How else can you interpret most of the planet and the majority of his own populace vehemently opposing his bold, poorly informed actions?

So now the liberals are falling back on the "well if everybody else jumps off a bridge, then it must be ok" logic.

The complaints-to-logic ratio is approaching infinity in this thread.

So you put those posts in a thread about dropping out of the Paris Climate Accord not to criticize people who object to dropping out of the agreement, but to make a separate point that they could all become Vegan if they wished?

If you don't understand why posting that in the 'Trump Pulling out of Paris Climate Agreement' thread seems like you were trying to tie it into the idea of pulling out of the climate agreement, then I don't know what to tell you.

You don't know anybody's motivation on their diet unless they tell you. And again people can still not choose to be vegans but still wish to have their nation follow other steps to combat climate change. They can do that and are justified in doing that even if they aren't vegans.

I think his point was that people are up in arms about Trump pulling out of an agreement that was really just a symbolic gesture that wasn't actually going to do anything to combat climate change....but if they really cared that much about the issue you'd think they'd do all within their power to help the cause.

It's not a perfect point, or necessarily even a good one, but I understood what he was trying to say.

In the end this is all much ado about nothing....as per usual.

That's what I thought he was trying to say as well. Which is why I posted what I did about it. It's also why I was confused as to him all of a sudden claiming that he was making a separate point and that he had no idea where I got the idea that he was tying it into the validity of people's criticism about climate change.
