Here's a simple way to look at our last 2 Presidents.

If I had a choice to vote for Obama or any of the leftist posters on this board, I would vote for Obama every single time. No offense to you all, but I'd trust Obama is going to do the right thing most of the time and that he has the experience and discipline to handle the job effectively.

If I had a choice to vote for Trump or any of the right-leaning posters on this board, there is not one question in my mind that I would vote for any of them over Trump. BigTexxx, BobbyTheGreat, AroundTheWorld, Tallanvor, CML.... seriously, any single one of them. Heck, I would give absolute serious consideration to voting for RocketsLegend over Trump. Based on the commentary on this board, I judge them to be much more superior in terms of intellect, judgment and overall competency than Trump.

I think those countries were set to be less effected by the agreement than the US. Which is always the case, the US is just expected to always take the hit.

If the climate changes, then people will adapt....you know, like they have for the entire history of mankind as the climate has literally always changed. Only now man has convinced themselves that they are the cause of that change and that they can prevent it as if there is a planetary thermostat they can set. Since things are going to change, and there will be a need to adapt to that change, you don't make that more difficult by harming the economy and making life worse for poor people.

Bill Peduto a Democrat mayor of Pittsburgh since 2014 would rather see an economic crash and job loss for his city just so he could say "I went against Trump".

    Democrat party, not even once.

and it's especially not good for Elon Musk because he was set to profit off of the rising energy prices caused by the agreement. He potentially lost a lot of money today, of course he's upset.

Ah ha! You think I'm a leftist, and you think I think Obama is the best. The man did a lot of good, and while he is better than Trump, I would hardly put him in the best category. Nice try though.

Also, the fact you would think that I don't worry about money is comical, or that even people who support the environment don't care about money or have to worry about it. A lot of college aged people care about the environment, and it used to be that you could go to college and work a 40 h job and have zero debt. Now, that's not possible. Furthermore, I was making 18 k a year with a PhD, it wasn't until recently switching to industry that I was make a living wage. That's a PhD in chemistry too, not political science or English. I have mountains of student loan debt too. I care about money, I just think cancer, heart disease, and mother nature killing us are a better fight to fight than some pissed off Muslims.

That said, I don't blame him for looking out for his own rational self interest and I still wish him the best because he's producing some really good products that are only a generation or so away from being viable.

Yes, but the rate at which the climate has changed in temperatures has never been this high before. I will ask you again, have you read any scholarly work on this?

I'd be shocked if many liberals on here even know the implications of pulling out of this agreement.

Remember the USA never agreed to the Kyoto protocol, yet were the first to meet its targets.

If your priority is reduced emissions, don't assume government means is the only path. Innovation is also an option.

Yes, I have. A considerable amount actually. Some that is alarmist, some that is more subdued. I'm not denying the science, I'm denying the cult like religion that has sprung up around the idea of AGW.

I'm not against "green" tech, I'm against actively harming people now to expedite that tech.

Actually Musk has a lot to gain from this considering more citizens will want to support Tesla and Musk's products in defiance of the direction that Trump is taking the country in.

Not quite as much as he would have gained from energy prices skyrocketing which would have made his products instantly more viable. Without energy prices skyrocketing the price of his products will have to go down a bit before it makes sense to switch to them for most people.....which should still happen anyway and it's why I say that his products are about a generation away from viability.

Well yeah, every single American profits from Trump pulling out because their energy prices aren't going up by 20%.
