You guys hear 610 call out 105.3 in Dallas and pronounced the Rangers as dead? 105.3 just came back crapping on Houston and saying they don't know what winning football is lol
Why is Gonzalez in the outfield and Springer the DH? is Gonzalez considered a better fielder? Is Springer injured?
Don't look now, but Fiers has pitched well 2 of his last 3 starts. His other one vs CLE is somewhat forgotten because we got shutout, 3-0. Probably just for rest
Do you follow baseball or are you new to it? Do you realize teams pitch certain hitters certain ways? Is this forum really to the point where posters complain about pitch selection where the guy is struck out? You complain because Fiers, I guess, should have retired every single Twin since their offense isn't that good?
Cody Stoots is such an idiot sometimes... There was really no need for that. I guess he thought he was being funny...
Yeah I didn't start watching until the Buxton AB and he pitched perfectly to him (and really should have been a K on a perfect backdoor curveball). I don't know if he is safe or out if Yuli picks it, but he is out if Correa makes a good throw. I'll take that version of Fiers gladly out of the 5th spot. That was by far his best FIP performance of the season (1.87 vs. 4.70 as his previous best).
Remember when we use to rag on Peacock. He's done alright this year. Then we ragged on Fiers. Looking good now. Who do we rag on next? Maybe we aren't ragging hard enough on Gurriel? We need to rag on somebody!
Yeah...that was a tough play. Rosario got a great jump off first and gave Correa no option for the force at second. Buxton's speed forced the issue. The at bats to Polcano (4 pitch walk) and Rosario (5 pitch walk) were really the only "bad" things Fiers did all game. But, I guess the Castro at bat to end the first was bad because it did take 4 pitches to strike him out.
Guessing that Springer had a few long runs to catch fly balls last night... good time to get a rest. Plus a chance to get jake a few more ABs. The good news is that our backup outfielders are good defensively... heck, even Marwin made a nice play on a deep fly last night.
Fiers did work last night... chewed up innings, which is what you want from your bottom of the rotation guy. getting the win just made it all the better. Wondering if pitching with guys on the base is an advantage right now... as a benefit in the stretch run and playoffs as a spot starter or long reliever.
