To be honest we are going have to free up more than Ryno's contract to get Griffin and find a replacement for Nene.

If we assume that Hayward and Griffin are off the table because of cap space, then I say Milsap. He has not declined; look at his numbers; he's still putting up 18/8 with 4 dimes and playing solid D. He's been durable and no statistical drop off; 32, not too old. We are in win-now mode; Les set us on this course last offseason. Milsap is a great get for a win-now team with a deep hole at the 4 spot...like us.

The other option ...and i can't believe i'm saying this, is Danilo Gallinari. We probably can't afford him either, but I think he's a younger, more consistent version of Anderson. This guy's shot doesn't disappear, it's consistent. He's a good passer, and there wouldn't be a drop-off on the boards or on D (not a high bar). Anyway, i understood the logic in getting a stretch 4, but Anderson's inconsistency proved to be a too much. We need to dump that contract if we want to be players this offseason.

Last but not least, i'd consider Mirotic. Give him 30 min a night and watch him average 15/7 with a block and a steal a game. He's only 26, Kelly Olynyk is similar type player; he's really bulked up and is an excellent passer.

I think what is missed with not understanding Lou is the cap space out gives you. It pits you around 20m which is about what your gonna need for Ibaka millsap and put you within striking distance of Hayward and Blake enough to maybe warrant a meeting.

It's also dealing from a position of strength, whereas if you trade Ryan and don't secure an improvement (Ibaka, millsap) you become worse. Conversely, if you move Lou and don't acquire Ibaka or millsap you still have room to acquire a player like Gallo. Which is probably a wash in terms of talent albeit I would prefer Gallo to Lou.

It's classic morey style to trade an asset before he expires and this is why I'm thinking both ariza and Lou could get moved while looking for upgrades.

    My order of preference is.
    Hayward
    Ibaka
    Griffin
    Millsap
    Gallo

But you don't garner a meeting with any of those players except (maybe) Gallo while only have 12m in cap space.

I think it's likely a possibility to roll over the cap space into next year. Maybe even doing something like giving NeNe 1 yr @10m and giving Troy a minimal deal with an option for next year as well. That would make 12m + Lou and ariza expiring, capela cap hold would be minimal along with Harrells. It would be our last big chance for pairing another big name star with harden.

I'm a big fan of multitude of SF's. It's how teams are going deep into the playoffs nowadays. A name often coming
up with Houston is Sefolosha. I believe Jonathan Simmons has moved up to the front of the line....as far as
realistic options. Hayward and Paul George are not. Rockets would have to keep Lou Williams $7 mil contract
and deal Eric Gordon $12 mil contract and/or Ryan Anderson for those big name guys.

Harden pushed for Lou...hard to see Lou getting traded imo.

Aside from the names everyone's saying, I'd go for Taj Gibson. He fills a lot of holes on our team, can provide veteran presence, and doesn't seem to have issues accepting whatever role his coach gives him. Plus, he's from the 2009 draft so it's a wonder he hasn't been a Rocket before.

Signing Gibson and Nene would be great moves that could pay off in the postseason but perhaps might not garner a lot of attention.

In addition to the wings everybody wants, I'd also look at James Johnson, Bojan Bogdanovich, Joe Ingles, CJ Miles, and Jonathon Simmons.

We have alot of moveable pieces. I don't understand why we are just looking to trade a couple guys. I am ok with losing capella if it nets us something.... until we get 2 more legit stars to play with Harden we all need the mentality that everyone and anyone except for Harden is expendable. The rest of the role players will follow if Les is willing to pay the fee.

I think if a big name guy becomes available, you easily consider moving Anderson or Gordon. I love Gordon, but he is coming off the bench and I think Lou can replace 80% of his production. They didn't seem to mesh well together.

Gordon's the better defender, less of a ball stopper, a couple of years younger, and is locked up on a long term friendly contract. To me he's the right player to stick with if one has to go to open up cap. Plus, off court Gordon doesn't seem to be as much "about that life" as Lou is, I'd rather we'd have less strip club and party lifestyle influence around Harden.

Yes, Gordon is definitely the better player. Still, I would trade him if it netted us a big name.

Everyone talking about Milsap, but the Hawks that I really wanted Rox to sign is MIke Muscala.

Whats even better? He just stunk big time during the playoffs.

Morey's prime target needs to Danilo Gallinari, after that, Houston is the medical capital of America I'm sure there's a doctor here that can rig a contraption to filter Bosh's blood as he plays...

I would, too... the issue with that is there is really only one DeAndre Jordan. Hassan Whiteside isn't going anywhere either. Someone who I thought would eventually evolve into that type of player would be Willie Cauley-Stein, but now that Boogie's gone I bet Sactown holds onto him tight.

Any suggestions for who the next "DeAndre Jordan" could be?

Theres a plethora of Centers in the league that can only dunk and suck at free throws just like Deandre Jordon. "only one Deandre jordon"

I know but McGee is going to sign whatever the warriors offer him, Okafor seems to be toxic, unless Morey can swing and Anderson for Lopez trade with Brooklyn the only center available is Greg Monroe. I'd rather sure up our sf and pf positions and roll with Clint, Nene and Nanu in an expanded role
