[Insanity] ALT-RIGHT has taken over Debate & Discussion

The leftists are losing seats because they mistakenly believe that people will see through the bold-faced lies being told by the other side. Unfortunately, the other side seems like they are content to be rubes who believe liars.

In just that short post, you even repeated a lie, "the party of free stuffs" is a pile of bullshit.

 

I noticed this about Trump supporters/apologists. When they want to prove their narrative to be true and the liberal agenda as fake news they point towards election results and who's 'winning' while providing no nuance on the subject at hand.

 

It is easy to win elections when you're not compelled to tell the truth or support your opinions with facts and evidence.

 

The Right is still the party of No. Its only that they don't realize that they have all three branches of government with all the power in the world, they have a word of Right Wing media that helped Trump get elected in the first place. When InfoWars and Brietbart has WhiteHouse Press credentials there is no room for b****ing and moaning about "the big bad liberal media".

OK but uhmm the democrats have controlled the senate 60 out of the last 82 years. They have controlled the House 62 out of the last 82 years.

The democrats have won 4 out of the last 7 elections. Though they have garnered more (many million more if totaled together also) votes in 6 out of 7 elections (or 24 out of 28 years) Unless I am completely ignorant of what type of person Donald Trump is I would assume the House and Senate will tilt back in the other direction. I could be wrong obviously.

Overall though the democrats and progressives are far from being irrelevant in this country. There is a extensive list of social issues that have changed the United States in the last 50+ years. Things will continue to go in that direction regardless. The only thing that is unknown is the speed in which that change happens.

Such a short post, and yet so much to analyze.

This part presumes to know what Sweet Lou would do without asking Sweet Lou himself or waiting for Sweet Lou to offer up his feelings. So Rockets Pride has decided to give Sweet Lou a position that Sweet Lou hasn't taken.

Then this part of the short post establishes a battle between two groups, terrorists and white conservative Christian males. It ignores the reality that there white Christian Conservatives who are also terrorists. It also then makes a personal attack against Sweet Lou calling him a name.

It also, as has been mentioned before, doesn't label the specific issue upon which Sweet Lou takes a side.

So basically Rockets Pride is assigning positiosn to Sweet Lou and then making his own counter positions based on that.

Rockets Pride is playing both characters in his own play that he's created.

The media doesn't need to do anything. Trump's own actions have led to historically low approval ratings, like ones that America has never seen before. Trump is one of the least popular presidents EVER.

I agree with OP that we have more alt-right representation here than we did before Trump, but I don't think the trolling is any more pronounced than before. And not all the alt-right is trolling. I do think you're right that the forum still leans left overall (though I'd have to find out what alt-left even means before calling it alt-left), so I'm not too worried about them ruining anything. It's not like there was once a time, maybe back in the 1950s, when everyone in the D&D got along, had high-minded debates on the issues, and never resorted to logical fallacies or personal attacks. We called it monkeys slinging poo at each other for a reason. I still like it. You can put the insufferable on ignore, and the others give you an opportunity to argue.

As for Russian Legend, he's a paid propagandist. Nobody needs to argue with him. Nobody takes him or his positions seriously, yet some folks still respond to him and post in his threads. If we ignore him, he will leave.

The more attention he gets the more his bosses like it. It doesn't matter that you make points against him. It still shines the spotlight on the things on which he wants to shine a light. It's a no win situation for anyone.

The liberals are too lost to realize this is accurate. They find the news they "want" to hear on CNN, so they are convinced it's true. Echo chamber. They should have learned from the last election, but they're too stubborn and proud.

 

Who do you consider alt-right? I guess that considers ones definition. There are hard core trolls like Honeybear. Rocketslegend is one of the very few proud supporters of Trump. There are a couple traditional Republicans and those who tend to lean right. You're one of the very few who tends to be truly be in the middle.

 

Sorry for butting in, but I just want to say that I think we need to remove that tag of "Alt-Right and Alt-Left" if we can here. The Alt-Right is an actual organization with an actual leadership structure, meetings, organization, etc. There is no such thing as a group called the Alt-left even though there are groups that folks on the right think are horrible. Doesn't mean there is an equivalency.

I'd go as far as to say that RocketLegend is a Trump fanatic who will fight tooth and nail to support Trump and his cronies. Then there are the folks like Bobby that hate "liberals" enough to reside in an "enemy of my enemy" approach to align with Trump ideals in a manner that is purely a mechanism for vilifying "Liberals".

However I don't think or know for a fact that they are a card carrying member of the "Alt-Right". Richard Spencer is the leader of this group by and large and they have a clear ideology that is consistent with the neo Nazi white supremacy movement that has been around since post WW2. The groups ideals are terrible because they use intellectual sounding language about history, genealogy, and even science to essentially get to a claimed position about race and the advancement of white Europeans in society as above all others.

As much as I argue with Bobby, and how loony I think RoxLegend is, I think its unfair to just label them "Alt-Right" without knowing for sure if they truly consider themselves as unofficial or official members of this group. If they do identify as Alt-Right, then and want to publicly come out and say so, then I hope they realize what exactly they are aligning themselves with.

if anyone is throwing around the label Alt-Right to someone here, I'd hope they had some basis for understanding that their position is either passively or activity aligning with or pushing the ideals of white supremacy. Being a Trump fan alone doesn't make you an Alt-Right monster.


And any idiot out there that claims that the proverbial "Liberals" all over the world are somehow an equivalency of the Alt-Right can go F$%# themselves.

 

I just saw this gem of a thread that was hidden because it was started by someone on my ignore list so it only pops up when it's the most recently replied to post in the D&D. I gotta say it's pretty weird to say that the "Alt-right" has taken over the D&D given that the board is very much dominated by those on the left. That said, the kid that started this thread probably considers anyone not on the absolute fringes of the left to be "Alt-right" so in his mind perhaps it is true.

For the record, I'm not "Alt-right" and honestly heard about that nonsense for the first time here. I am, and have seemingly always been, a libertarian that leans right.
