He wants to be back. His numbers have been better than other years and despite the untimely injury, He'll be back. However, he doesn't want the same contract. 2 years. James will make it happen. He doesn't need a payday, but we robbed him. This is from 2 days ago. Houston added yeas to his career. *Kicker: He wants more help from big guys. He can't be the only big who can score and use the post. Relax, unless someone throws some huge money. Peace
Interesting, thanks for posting. Is "we robbed him" his assessment, or yours? Remember that around the time of the signing, he was written off around the league as an aging injury risk with diminishing athleticism. I would welcome him back, even more so if we can get another interior presence ahead of him on the depth chart.
Rockets players keep getting targeted for robbery. https://bossip.com/1559207/another-...d-for-50000-in-l-a-home-invasion-video-43081/
They need a lot more than that. They are light years behind the Warriors. Playing for second place in the West right now. It's almost pointless
Robbed him? LOL for voluntarily signing his contract? I like him, he can stay, 20 mins a game - emergency 3rd team center, yes. But relying on him - as a proven injury prone player, you know he is going to break, just like he did this year. DD
After this year, Nene deserves it. Hopefully his injury does not set him back. I think a 2 year contract is deserved pending a physical.
We want Nene back, & he does need more help, Capella is getting there. But we need a 3rd big with some moves.
Millsap is a FA, he can score, rebound and defend. Lou and Ariza are movable, EG too to some extent with three years remaining on his contract, to a upcoming team needing experience. Nene knows Capela can't cut it. Extending Capela would be a big mistake. If he makes more progress, especially on offense, then he will be very valuable for the Rockets future.
Milsap can ball, at 6'8" not real big, but as Bullard would say he's got sand in his pants. I'm sure he could help, can we afford him? I really like SweetLou & EG. I grow weary of Ariza.
So he won't sign for the room exception again Codman? I'm hoping he signs a two year room exception deal (3 mill per). If we are going to use real cap (7-10mill+) then I'd rather bring a younger center in who can play more minutes, get more defensive rebounds and protect the rim better (If we can't use to cap to bring in a big time player that is). I like Nene, but because nobody at our PF position can rebound or play defense, we need to have centers who make up for it, and those just aren't Nene's strengths. He's a excellent pick and roll man, he can also play decent post defense, but he's not a good defensive rebounder or rim protector. Also due to his age and injuries, he's only suited to play like 15mpg, and we could use a bit more from our backup center (without having to strain or injure him). Again would love Nene back on the room exception, but I hope we don't use any of our cap on him.
I don't know, but if Morey is creative and lucky, we might have an outside shot at him. I like EG and Lou too, but one of them will have to go along with Ariza to make cap room. Ryan for cap room, is a near impossibility.
Huh? All measures of progress indicate that he should grow this off season, as he has in every offseason he's been here. Why no extension? Are you think he won't improve this offseason, despite all stats saying otherwise? maybe you've seen further, or maybe his age is catching up, but I really see no other reason why he wouldn't improve.
