I was happy the bird didn't make the front page news. I hate to see animal rights activists protesting at Minute Maid.
perhaps everyone was busy due to the holiday weekend like me. But it's crazy to read through this thread and not see a ton of people pumped about the Springer HR (and 2-5 day) after the crazy complaints lately about him leading off. And also zero complaints about Gregerson coming in in the game in a "save situation" in the 8th? I assume the board would have blown up if he gave up a run or 2.. I'm certainly glad he didn't. I thought he looked good and mostly kept the ball down/in the zone. It seems like it might be important for Luke's confidence that he made this it through this outing unscathed. If he and Hoyt are on the same level going forward, that'll be huge
I was out tonight, just finished the game. Springer has been getting great wood on the ball the last 2 games, with a couple of hard hit outs as well. He might be primed for one of his hot stretches. Correa's numbers just continue to creep upwards, now slashing .298/.375/.488, very close to the magic .300/.400/.500 line. And at this point I am concerned with Gregersen, he just hasn't looked right for the last month. Hopefully he can regain form, but on the bright side Hoyt is making a bid to elevate himself.
I might as well have quoted you the first time since I basically addressed all of your comments LOL. I'm pretty sure we didn't want to use Giles and Devo today, so I had no problem going to Greg, even if he hasn't looked great.
I expect Gregorson will be demoted to mop up duty soon. I am glad to hear that Peacock will be in rotation instead of Fiers.
I never advocated moving Springer, but wouldn't call the notion, "crazy". Outside of Sipp, the bullpen did great. Hopefully McCullers can not only pitch well, but keep a low count because the bully has been somewhat stretched, and there's no off day until Thursday.
Where can I find the share2care winning numbers? I went to astros.com/share2care I can find everything but the winning numbers. Took my nephew to the restroom and missed the drawing. this may not be the right place to ask, but I did not feel the need to start a new thread
Lat injuries seem to linger a bit like hamstring issues do, so how much time he misses probably remains to be seen.
Morton is kind of a big deal. We can through for a few starts but it's just the baseball gods reminding Jeff to get that guy to follow Dallas and Lance in the rotation.
