Any other position can be replaced/exchanged as many times as a team deems necessary. The only stipulation is a player can't re-enter the game. It's like playing AL rules, then switchIng to NL during the middle of the game. But again, that's how they made the rules.

In a nutshell, the rule is simply that the DH can only hit for the pitcher. Once you put him in the field, he is no longer hitting for the pitcher.
