Bagwell also sitting a cool .100+ points higher in career OPS. He's gotta be Top 25 All-Time in that category. The good side of having to retire prematurely.
What's the Rangers record since Dave Raymond got up there and took a dump from his mouth? Just sayin.
Went to the game tonight.... really solid crowd... Musgrove looked great but it was unfortunately low scoring... (I went to the 1-0 Monday).... give HTM some offense guys!
The O's guys mentioned something after his HR that he tweaked his swing this offseason. I have heard nothing about that from the crack H-town reporting contingent. Did I miss something? I was really impressed with the amount of research they did on the Stros. Although Palmer did call our SS "Korea" once.
Quick question about the DH- if Mcann starts at C, and Gattis at DH, if McCann needs to come out of the game and Gattis moves to C, does that mean the pitcher has to hit in McCann's spot?
I heard rumblings about it previously without any details. Can't remember if that was from the Houston broadcast or one of the ESPN/MLBTV games perhaps
I'm pretty sure Robert Ford and Steve Sparks talked about Marisnick tweaking his swing so he can elevate the ball more....but I'm not 100% on that.
I don't get to listen to them often, my truck radio is the only one that picks up the Austin feed well, but from what I've heard they are really good. So that doesn't surprise me.
I've heard the Jake swing change about 5 different times by the Houston broadcast via in game or the post game show.
Yes, they tweaked his swing. They started working with him on it late last season. They found a hitch that was causing him to not hit the ball with authority. Last week or so Jake talked about it after Hinch made reference to it. Jake is still striking out but hitting with authority. I like Bobrek am skeptical, but hope he keeps it up.
Jake has really been getting into these balls too, that's what is really impressive. If he were just hitting HR's it would be a lot easier to simply write it off as good fortune with the HR/FB rate. But these have been gone with a ton of room to spare. Having said that he is striking out a ton this year, and his HR/FB rate is crazy (well hit or not), so i'm still not buying it. However his offensive bar is very low given his glove, maybe's he's developed enough pop to support his speed and glove.
I listen to the other guys about half the time, so I must have missed it, don't get the postgame show, though I'd watch it if I could.. Hadn't seen anything about it in writing...thus my consternation earlier.
Toronto just blasted a 3 run homer off Darvish to take the lead 3 - 1... I enjoy watching the Rangers lose almost as much as I enjoy watching the Astros win (though I still enjoy that more)
