CP3 taking a pay cut would extremely irresponsible given his role as the president of the players' union.

If CP3 leaves LAC, does that make Blake more, or less likely to leave?

Sure, but it's the huge amount of the pay cut here that's significant (along with moving from LA to San Antonio).

I think he's just trying to force Doc's hand. He wants personnel changes (Blake sign-and-trade), and threatening to walk in FA will push the org to accommodate his wishes.

He's a ball dominant pg. Kawhi needs the rock, he's too great offensively now. Not sure how that would work.

people overrate cp3 being ball dominant. he can play with any other star in this league as a pure pg. he has the ball in his hands because based on the personnel hes surrounded with, that's the best option to put the team in position to be successful. who else on his rosters is someone that can take care of the ball and create on a regular basis night in and night out.

I feel like the summary of his career ( like Stockton ) was that he didn't shoot enough big shots when he was more than capable of taking a game over as a shooter.

CP3 is deeply involved in the players union and has been the biggest cheerleader for every player taking the biggest contract.

I find it very unlikely that CP3 would then suddenly decide to turn down a $200,000,000 contract to go to another team for half that.

However, if all things were equal I do think CP3 would go to SA over the LAC because the environment is better and the culture and team are light years better.

The idea that SA is "much worse" as a city than LA is really an opinion, and at this point of CP3's career, I don't think matters much.

What is more interesting is whether the Rockets would want in on a deal for Aldridge.

CP3 and Lebron have been building the entire CBA negotiations around getting themselves these deals. For him to walk away from it would be a true shocker. Everything has been about how he and Lebron hated the "max" and wanted to find a way to get themselves the mega deals. He'll re-sign for his $200 million.

Of course they would. They were eager beavers for him once before and he'd still be a good fit. Chances of a true superstar ever joining us while they are at that level is just shy of 0%, so the best we can hope for his all-star or former superstars who are just outside of their prime.

No. None is going to leave so much money just for a wishful ring. Spurs will not win all thing with or without CP3. The best approach for him is to sign a big contract to earn lots of money, then sign a vet mini deal with GS or whoever at the end of career to chase a ring.

He never plays a role without being a ball dominant, it is hard to predict.

and who's fault is that? not his. not really hard to predict when hes clearly a pure pg. take whatever setting you want where hes playing next to stars and he clearly has no problem playing the pure pg that he is in reality. that's just being able to understand the game. You can't name another player next to him that can be trusted with the ball on a nightly basis. but one things for sure, guys he's played with have benefited greatly by playing next him throughout these years

Don't know how good of a fit he is for POP. I think he needs to form a superteam out EAST with PG13 and his buddies Melo and Dwight on cheap contracts.

Sorry, don't see CP3 leaving Clippers. CP3 spearheaded the CBA change to up the age to 38 so he himself could get the FULL FIVE YEAR max contract. He will be taking that contract from the Clippers, case closed. He may "ring chase" after that contract is done or force his way out later in the deal, but he is taking the FIVE YEAR from the Clippers.
