If he doesn't come here to develop, might as well forget about him.

He'll be better off here putting on muscles, and get NBA coaching and training.

Yao was very dominant in the low post except for when he was fronted or got stripped.

His first season he was a great midrange jump shooting center. I think he grew into a much better player putting on weight. The foot problems were unfortunate along with the tibia plateau fracture.

I want to see him hit a real thug in the face. I would love to see Matt Barnes reaction to that.

Haddadi would have been a nice vet min 3rd big to have on the bench.. Man can play real solid if not great in stretches...
On second that it's Meijiri that I was really thinking about..

I wonder if he ever gets a chance even for a few minutes to scrimmage against the Rockets for the staff to judge somewhat what he is capable of.

He's going to hit puberty any day now. Then, he will be unstoppable.

I bet somewhere in the middle of nowhere China, they have successfully cloned Yao Ming and are now modifying his genes to correct the foot and tibia problems

His length is insane. 7'1 without shoes, 7'8 wingspan, 9'4 standing reach, 32 inch no step and standing vert. Combine his length, jumping ability, agility, shot blocking instincts, rangy jumper and you have your self a prospect with very interesting potential. Dudes only 21 too.

His ultimate upside comparison to me would be Porzingis, obviously Qi's offensive skill set and overall athleticism is likely nowhere near KP's, but that being said similar thin frames (KP still has 20lbs on Qi though) very similar length/height, both good shot blockers, both (likely) mediocre rebounders.

If he can be half of Porzingis, he'd be a hell of a pickup for a 2nd.

He looks too soft and scared to bang down low with anyone in the NBA. The fact that hes 21 and hasn't developed any muscle indicates he will never be ready to be a player in the league.
