Yep. Very true. I got family that knows Mo Jr. and by all accounts he is an arrogant turd who was "supposed" to be a star and never made it. His dad was an NBA player many moons ago (the players today make waaay more money) so the money grab aspect of this case could be valid. Mo is about 10years older than James and was never a professional athlete, why would Harden care about what he thinks? Soo, Mo Jr. knows the price to James's kids basketball camp. Mo Jr. then tweets about James and he assumes James read it. Then he happens to be in the same place at the same time as Harden, who immediately orders a hit on him. The guy with a 9 figure shoe deal then orders these fools to rob Mo Jr.? What would Mo Jr. own that James couldn't buy? I would love to see his proof.

If Mo Jr. gets paid, I'm tweeting something about the price Mike Conley's kids camp and see if he'll beat me up and rob me. Maybe I can get paid too.

Still no idea... might could if I dug around the rosters of teams near Houston at that time or something? Maybe I'm missing something obvious, but I also don't understand why you can't just tell us. Is there some kinda legal liability here if you say the name? I don't know how there could be... The mystery and suspense is killing me.

I want to believe Harden didn't do it. I also wish he would quit hanging out at strip clubs. With Rusty Hardin on his team he will get the game winning assist. Headlines....Rusty Wins Again.

Strip clubs can be fun for the occasional patron, a bachelor party, a milestone birthday, a divorce party, a release from prison.
People that are in strip clubs all the time will get cynical or depressed or strung out on a variety of drugs and bad habits.
I know this. Bartenders, dancers, waitresses, patrons, owners, everyone.

dang you all act like you know exactly how many times during the season Harden goes

MVP runner up twice, players MVP, and most points produced in an nba season is cynical or depressed or strung out on a variety of drugs and bad habits because he's been known to go to stripclubs LOL

I don't pretend to know how often he goes to clubs. I know what happens to people in that environment from personal experience. I hope he doesn't have to learn , like I did.

I think the comparison was more in response to "I want to believe Harden didn't do it." Which I interpret (loosely) "I want to believe that Harden is too good a guy for this accusation to make ANY sense at all." Which I believe is a response most people would want to have toward any previously-beloved public figure. Cosby was Cliff Huckstable, beloved sweater-wearing hero of The Cosby Show. America's Father Figure.

Harden is The Beard. Mr. Trolli's Candy. Slightly eccentric, mad hoops skills, able to poke fun at himself in the Harden singing commercials, the Brow commercial, etc etc. My response wants to be, NO WAY CAN HARDEN HAVE DONE THIS. also, I CAN'T POSSIBLY BELIEVE HARDEN WOULD DO SOMETHING LIKE THIS.

Well, we know from other celebrities that occasionally really stupid stuff does happen. Nancy Kerrigan/Tonya Harding. O.J. Simpson. Bill Cosby. Aaron Fernandez. Kobe Bryant.

Why is it so hard to imagine that Harden might be involved in this? I personally don't put much stock in "Harden ordered these guys to do the hit." They're grownups; they don't have to do what Harden tells them to do. On the other hand, I can imagine Harden sort of nodding, wink wink, smile smile, "I'd throw $20k worth of lap dances your way" after hearing folks in his circle grumbling "we ought to do something to this guy." Harden nodding in silent agreement (N.B. I am speculating) is not the same as ordering somebody to do something, but him laughingly or jokingly nodding and suggesting he'd put some money into the effort is not at all that implausible, especially if everyone in the group has had too much to drink or worse. Again, I have to wonder why Malone Junior would make something up. And I'm not at all comfortable with the blame-the-victim kneejerk response that is all too common in sexual assault cases, police shootings, or virtually any crime involving a less-than-100-percent-upstanding citizen.

long-winded response to me missing the point about strip clubs. My point wasn't really about strip clubs.

okay, so the DA and the cops are engaged in a plot together to frame an NBA player with a $120 million dollar NBA contract as well as a $200 million contract with Adidas. I'm all ears. What's your theory?

you got it all the way around

has the DA brought any charges against harden or has the cops attempted to arrest harden?

you know the diff between a criminal and civil lawsuit?

no. but why is that relevant to the question, "Why is it so hard to imagine that Harden might be involved in this?"

First of all - if there was hard evidence that Harden paid someone to beat Jr up, don't you think the police would be investigating this as a criminal act as opposed to letting civil courts handle it?

    Seems really odd.

Haven't been around much since "Game 6". Are people still butt hurt?

Hopefully he doesn't get traded in the offseason otherwise he may end up on TMac's level and on @tinman 's list of soapbox foes.

Good for not sticking around. Seriously.

Yes, people are still very much butt hurt.
