Indeed. I want to add to those who are unaware that transgender Americans who can afford to do so generally use medical means, not necessarily surgical, to physically transition (thus contributing to the "transgender" moniker) to the sex that they are mentally. A female who is actually a male in a female body will undergo long term male hormone therapy that literally changes his appearance. They can grow facial hair, etc., their periods stop, and some might get breast reduction surgery if, again, they can afford it, but most don't have far more invasive (and complicated and very expensive) genital surgery. There seems to be some confusion here about the topic.

As usual, knuckle draggers love their echo chambers.

i dont have anyone on ignore, but blocking someone who posts as much as bobby would certainly make threads easier to read.

for someone who says they dont care about this issue he seems to be really caught up in it...why put all this effort into questioning peoples motives and mental stability if you think its such a non-issue?

To give you a quick rundown because it's clear you haven't been following along very well, this is something that is being made an issue by those with cynical intentions. When something that is in reality a non-issue is being constantly hyped up for political (and fund raising) purposes, it becomes an issue....again, nothing truly related to transsexuals, the issue is with those pushing this political narrative.

That said, I get that this is a far left board filled with partisan hacks and mentally weak people like Deckard....so I fully expect a bunch of whining nonsense when I go against DNC party talking points but I can't help it that they are wrong in this instance.

Passing the Senate was always a foregone conclusion. The hurdle SB6 needs to pass is the House, where Speaker Strauss isn't very keen on the measure. I give it an ~18% chance of becoming law.

It's been really refreshing to not wade through the endless stream of antagonistic questioning!

Sometimes the biggest "echo chamber" is within one's own mind.

I was happy to see them be done with it so they can move on to other issues. It won't pass the house. San Antonio is spending a lot of money on upgrading the Alamodome and if the NCAA pulls out of Texas....they ****ed.

Certainly. But his schtick was exhausting outside of the D&D, too. The Texans forum was nearly unreadable if he latched onto a certain subject. His stamina to belligerently argue the same point over and over is impressive, but exhausting to read and makes it impossible to catch up on threads when you've been away from the BBS for a while.

It's true, I often butt heads with simple minded people when it comes to lots of different subjects and I don't usually let people get away with saying really stupid things until I finally write them off as a completely lost cause. If I think that there is any chance that there is some possible intellectual value lurking deep within them trying to get out, I'll continue to try and get them to see the light. I can understand how that could get tiresome, especially if you happen to agree with the really stupid things that I'm disagreeing with.

At least your childish tantrums are more appropriate in this forum. I guess it's too much to ask that you discuss things like an adult.

Props to Sarah Davis for being the one Republican to vote no. She still disappoints on lots of issues but on social issues she's way to the left of the Republican Party.

Also Texas politics is unbelievably depressing. It's making it much harder to convince my wife to ever want to move to Houston.

I should also add that the era of using Joe Strauss as a safeguard against Dan Patrick might be over. Patrick is rolling over the house. He's already reintroducing school vouchers despite Strauss and Huberty saying no. If he flops on that too, then I think its clear that Strauss is powerless and Patrick and Abbott get to run the show. We'll finally have a true tea party government in Texas. *barf*

Not likely. This isn't really the same scale of what happened in NC and it isn't enough to make the governor and lieutenant governor happy. They are threatening to call the ledge back to special session if the bill isn't passed.

I don't see sports boycotts really taking off even if the bigger bathroom bill passes. I think he NCAA is pretty locked into San Antonio in basketball and Cowboys stadium with the cotton bowl and national championship. I don't imagine those are easy contracts to get out of. There aren't really any super bowls on the horizon. One thing I heard that could be passed a lot easier is the Pac 12 boycotting away games at states that have a bathroom law but that would not be able to stop the USC-Texas game next year.

I'm not sure if you will see the same amount of business boycotts.

Well third times a charm to kill this stupid bill.

Congrats on all that taxpayer money spent Abbott.
