Supposedly the police interviewed him and took his statement that night

Rusty Hardin is his lawyer? Lock this thread up, it no longer matters whether or not James actually did this or not Hardin doesn't **** around this this is over. I once watched a certain current Cleveland Cavalier beat up some dude at the Fonde in front of a huge crowd of ppl, Hardin made it go away. He also got Clemens, Warren Moon and Adrian Peterson off, James is in good hands

Yes, he's a criminal defense attorney, if you look at the history of his clients most if not all actually did what they were accused of and Rusty works his magic. Roger Clemen's trainer had the needle he stuck in Roger's ass, recorded conversations and witnesses, Roger got off. His fees are high because you're basically paying for an acquittal

    very interesting indeed

Haven't the 4 guys who attacked him been criminally charged? If Harden was the ringleader of the assault like Moses claims, then why isn't he being charged with a criminal offense as well? He said that it's not about the money and that he's looking to hold Harden accountable. I mean, he supposedly has all of this evidence linking Harden to the crime right?

This isn't a criminal case for Harden. (At least not yet.) It's a civil case. Rusty Hardin "getting James off" in a civil case means either getting Malone, Jr. to agree to a settlement with non-disclosure..........if you call that "getting off"...........or going to trial and winning the case outright. Now, which of those two do you think Hardin is going to do? Athlete and prominent public figure worth a quarter to a half billion dollars and if they go to trial and lose the case it costs a million dollars plus legal fees plus reputation plus a possible criminal charges following which could cost Harden substantial wealth.

Malone, Jr. is being very specific here. He's claiming Harden paid these guys $20,000 and they live face-timed the attack to Harden. What would Malone, Jr. have to gain by making all that up? What would he have to lose by making all that up?

Look at the position Malone, Jr. is in here. Deceased father is an icon in the city. If Malone Jr. made all this up and he gets exposed for making this up, he will lose in a big way and gain nothing. He'll lose future business opportunities. His reputation will be finished here. And it'll cost him legal fees. There's no upside to him making up bologna. It's all downside risk.

Why haven't they filed criminal charges against Harden? Because law enforcement doesn't think they have enough evidence to convict. (If there is evidence.) But that doesn't mean there's not enough evidence to convict civilly. It's two different standards.

    Conclusion:
Guilty or not, James put himself in this situation. Going clubbing and hanging with these kinds of characters. Not good. While he was supposedly focusing on getting in shape and getting away from the funk of 41-41 this stuff is going on.

Your superhero is flawed. And his flaw keeps manifesting itself. As I've stated before, character is what separates Lebron, Steph, and Kawhi from Harden. This flaw in his character will finally cost him big time if he doesn't get it fixed. It will cost him championships. It will cost him money and assets. And it'll finally cost him his career and reputation if he doesn't fix it.

I found myself basically in agreement with everything you said up until this paragraph--and it's not even that I disagree with what you say here about character flaws. But it's HOW you say it . . . the constant "I told you so" and "you'll see" tone of many of your posts is what keeps you from earning the wider audience that you sometimes actually deserve. I'd wager to say that your tendency to slide into "I told you so" is (a) born of a defensiveness from having people disagree with you so much but also (b) is itself a character flaw that you too often demonstrate. If you could just sometimes let the defensive I-told-you-so and you'll-see taunting out of your posts, you'd get more people like me nodding their heads in agreement and possibly even supporting you on occasion in your arguments. And not trying to be critical or be a jerk here or anything--honestly your assessment of the Moses Malone Jr. incident is the most logical thing I've read on the topic that I've read here on CF. But you ruin it with your tendency to slide into old bad habits with your last paragraph. Sorry, but that's how I see it. Other than the editorializing in the last paragraph, this was a good post.

Sorry that ruins everything for you. But I stated this over a year ago. And I stated that he needs to change. My point in saying that is to emphasize that nothing changed this last season. It was one big huge attempt to appear a player with narcissistic tendencies. And at the end of the day were stuck at the sand as acc organization. The whole organization is nite trying to figure out how to modify harden after feeding his lion who the red meat he wanted all year.

The core thing that needed to change here didn't change. Now everybody is walking on egg shells and crossing their fingers that James gets his own revelation here.

So if you don't like it that I'm reminding people about what I said a season ago I'm sorry. I don't necessarily like it when they tell me I don't know what I'm talking about. But I don't tell them that. I simply remind them what I said hasn't changed. I guess you should use the ignore button or deal with it.

So you are telling me that condescension isnt an effective method of persuasion? I thought people loved to feel littler and stupider than people "educating"??

Lol my dad was a middle school math teacher and is now a trial lawyer. Two jobs that require people to trust you or at least listen to you to succeed in.He always echoes exactly what you said here.

Having a condescending "Im smart enough to point out truths to dumb people who cant figure it out" attitude is so ineffective. Nobody listens to people who voice their thoughts in that manner...

I think you are spot on.

First, I disagree with your points in substance unlike @Os Trigonum but I absolutely agree with his criticism of your approach. You seem to be more worried about pride and i told you so's then you are about just sharing opinions with clutchfans. That is why your posts irk a lot of people. It is always "I'm right and you are wrong"

You jumped right into superiority complex mode IMMEDIATELY after he let you know about it with quotes like "But i stated this over a year ago" "I stated that he needed to change"

In your mind are you ever wrong about things or on equal footing with people or are you a genius blessing the rest of the bbs with your wisdom?

    This ain't about Houston sports.

This is about James Harden. He does not represent this city or the hard working middle class that busts their asses for every penny we have.

I don't think it's his job to do that. And for the most part he has never done anything bad. You cant just accuse Harden for this incident if you don't even know if he was apart of it. For all we know Malone Jr. Could be bullshitting just for some money. From what I see Harden is innocent until proven guilty. If going to the club is what makes you think makes him not represent the city that's not right because if anyone was in his place you need some form of releasing steam. We all know how much pressure there is In a city who hasn't won in decades.

    Where there's smoke....

Harden settled out of court with a guy he punched in the face in LA. So he has a history of doing stupid ****.

    http://www.dailynews.com/general-ne...harden-reach-settlement-after-alleged-assault

I'm done putting James on some stupid pedestal. He's been here 5 years. He's well into his prime and I've seen enough to know that I'm wasting energy convincing myself he's a Championship caliber player. I won't be doing that anymore. I'll be looking forward to the growth of our young guys like Capela, Harrell and Dekker because we don't know how good they can be. I'm 100% sure I know how good Harden will be.

    1. Money. Notoriety.
    2. Risk/Reward is heavily in his favor.

But yup, no matter what this is, Harden is immature. 100%.
