hell, when did he get the rebound and the assist? just slept-walked out there. having one of the greatest playoff runs ever and throws up 11 points? against a team that has no chance against him? had about 3 "WTF" turnovers on passes from one of the greatest passers ever. cavs going 2-17 on 3's in the second half. such a repeat of the hawks game. no energy, let other team get momentum, run horrible offense, then everyone on team forget how to shoot at the same time, no matter how open. once you take your foot off the gas, even the open shots start getting tough when you start feeling the pressure of blowing the easiest game ever. might have just undone a playoffs worth of momentum and shifted right back into regular season "what are we doing mode." i'm sure that will go well against the warriors. i got cocky and decided with thomas out that i could just assume the cavs would get the very rare sweep to the finals and yet, even up 21 in the 3rd, apparently i couldn't. such a weird effort. what's also super disappointing about both games is kyrie irving. lebron takes a game off and super-clutch kyrie pretty much does nothing to stop the bleeding when he's got a chance to step up. he just sinks into his own hole of dribbling forever and then bricks every make-able shot he gets. how about make a shot or two and pick the team up? not just when you're up 20. he's sneakily had a terrible playoffs.
The Harden-LeBron comparisons are dumb. One player has proven sooooooo much more... and this was faaaarr from an elimination game.
if anything this makes it worse. first off, it's hard to even call this exciting. a severely undermanned team delays destiny for one more game? not very interesting. second of all, there was at least going to be a titanic 12-0 vs 12-0 matchup in the nba finals with some people (not me) thinking the cavs could win and it will be a great series. now it's lost some of its luster and more than likely portends the inevitable, cleveland getting stomped, is going to happen. as if the warriors haven't done enough to ruin the league, lebron finishes it off.
Can't hate thks game from Cleveland after going through the entire playoffs without much resistence, has to get boring. Now they have less rest for GSW.
i don't know, seems pretty apt to me. it was almost a perfect combination of the bumbling incompetence of the end of game 5 and the all game "who gives a ****-ness" of game 6 watching his team inexcusably lose.
Dude was 10-15 for 29 pts. He had assists on a third of the FGs made by everyone else on the team. He missed all of 1 shot in the So if Cleveland wins this game, there would make a great finals, but since they lost this and have to play an extra game, they will suck in the finals? What the hell is wrong with people?
Nah, you know. That's why you deleted the other part of the post. Losing on a lucky 3PT >>> Getting blown out 40 in an elimination game
they will have less rest, but they'll still have 6 days off before the finals. i hope they don't need more than that. funny how things turn. if marcus smart, an awful 3 point shooter, just bricks the 3's he usually would during the 3rd quarter, the cavs probably still get away with not even playing hard. but he goes reggie miller and suddenly the cavs have to play an extra game.
what? (edit: oh, the other part of your post) obviously we know lebron is better than harden and has a better playoff resume. but this was about as inexplicable as harden's last game + 8 minutes. just a straight up disappearing act. 1 point, 1 rebound, and 1 assist in 18 minutes? for lebron? short of not crossing halfcourt or actively dodging rebounds as they come to you, that's almost impossible.
The Cleveland Irish Mafia held his mamma and his baby mamma hostage and said , "THE KING, IF you don't throw this game, they going to Dublin on a ship, lower class. Aye?"
i think the cavs/warriors took like 88 3's in a game last year in the finals. cleveland takes almost as many 3's as the rockets.
yeah he was great in the first half, but it felt like he did nothing to stem the run. maybe i was just channeling the hawks game too much where he just bricked everything in the 4th quarter but it felt like he just fell right into line with lebron and started running the shotclock and forcing bad shots instead of getting the team into anything. that 3 with a minute left was just a horrible decision. perhaps i overreacted a little. edit: what the hell is wrong with people? who the **** are you? how about i put things how i want to put them? this was just a general complaint at having one of the last good things about this playoffs, the 12-0 undefeated warriors vs the 12-0 undefeated cavs, ruined by a crappy effort. the fact i'm not super-convinced cleveland is at all equipped to stop golden state and they might have just reverted back to old habits at the worst time just makes it worse. i know they weren't trying but that was some ugly defense in the 2nd half and more of their typical iso-ball in big moments.
Credit to Celtics for not giving up down 21 on the road. Most teams would just give up in their hearts. Nevertheless Cavs gave it up as much as Celtics took it from them. They thought the game was over and coasted.
