To me, Aldridge's play looked worse as well for the same reason you described. Pachulia looked like he shuffled his feet to his left while he was turned around with eyes focused on the ball. Whether you want to believe it or not, it at least looks like it could be a box out move and contact was accidental. Aldridge looks like he closed out, stopped, then lunges his left foot slightly forward, all while facing him. Although it also could be unintentional, that last second lunge looks far more suspicious. In fact, most people at spurstalk.com actually believe that it was a deliberate attempt at causing injury by Aldridge.
I am glad we did not have to play this team. There was no reward for winning the series. Just get your ass up swept by the Warriors? What's the point? now the spurs are thinking damn, I don't think we see a championship in the near future and some of them start thinking about early retirement including Pops perhaps, but more likely manu and parker.
not that it would've mattered but what a joy in these conference finals that the celtics' and spurs' best players get injured en route to basically a sweep at least we'll get the cavs-warriors final with fully rested players?
agreed. I mean what difference could it have possibly made? A five game series maybe instead of a four-game series? maybe the games would've been closer.
I feel like Pop (and maybe Kerr) are the only coaches in the league that would sit their star in this situation. Could be an entire week off between CF and finals. Wonder if they'll have media day and stuff like super bowl week lol.

Big LOL @ saying you're glad we lost. Bitter? Spurs are thinking, "damn, if only we had our best player playing, we could win". And rightfully so. They were beating down the Warriors, Game 1 @GS. Championships, Finals appearances, Conference Finals appearances, and Playoff appearances all get respect, in descending order. Free agency would be easier if we made the CFs, even if swept.
