superstars dont constantly have inefficent playoffs. they're supposed to, eventually in their career, beast through their po's. has yet to do that. he hasnt even dominated a series yet. in the regular season he's a superstar. in the po's he' an all star. a tier below lebron, kd and curry. unless you count the top 10 players as superstars or somethign like that. being top 10 or 5 doesnt automatically mean you're a superstar, it just means you're top 10 in your current era. superstars have to bring their monster reuglar season numbers into the po's too.

btw its "your english" not "you're english"

yes keep hitting me with your one liners cuz we all know you cant argue for ****

what are you a teen or barely in college? i want my superstar to dominate playoff series like every other superstar. you dont mind that yours only dominates the regular season?

    tfoh b****

its not easy for the harden nuthuggers to hear i know. it wasnt easy for me last season when harden and co came into the season half ass like they won 5 straight rings instead of really happened which was lost the wcf in 5 games. that was enough for me. he aint gonna turn it around, thats how good he is. then u gonna bring uphis REGULAR SEASON stats, then i bring up his PLYAOFF STATS! mda offense = boost stats.

This might be the dumbest post on Harden I've read yet. Harden's already a physically gifted player and the sheer probability of getting a superior player to him in the draft is extremely small.

Seems to me that Harden's biggest weakness is himself. The Spurs had nothing to do with his Game 5 OT and Game 6 meltdown. There was no exploitation there. When Harden was at his best the Spurs still couldn't stop him. He needs to mature and improve himself on a mental level.

    I get that.

But again... what's the benefit? They've already proven themselves to be star friendly by renegotiating last year. Doing so again isn't necessary.

But in either case, what is the cap impact? Does it hangs anything about the next two years? does it change cap space this offseason or next? If so even more reason to hold off.

Considering he was being guarded by "Harden stopper" Andre Roberson with a good rim protector in Adams, and then Kawhi Leonard/Jonathan Simmons and the #1 defense in the league in the Spurs, I'd say for the most part Harden was pretty spectacular this playoffs outside of the Game 5 end and Game 6.

There's still plenty of improvement which is good news. He really needs to get his 3pt % closer to 40% and improve his shot selection. He should also be empowered and encouraged to expand his game beyond driving and threes. He has a solid post game and mid-range so it would be a shame for the Rockets to not utilize that, especially in clutch situations when he's less likely to get calls.

Actually I think this is equally dumb.

Hardens problems aren't solely mental. He's maximized his talents. He doesn't excel in areas the way some other super super stars do. Not the shooter of a Steph. Not the pure size and defense of a Kawhi. Not the crazy mismatch of a KD. Not everything of a Lebron. Great handles but not Steph handles.

He's the best I've perhaps ever seen at drawing fouls. Nice but in playoffs mitigated.

That's why he struggles in the playoffs over and over. Because you get a good quick sizeaboe defender, give him tape, and reinforce him with smart hedging defense with great rotations, and he struggles. Matthews, Kawhi/Simmons, etc.

It just is what it is. MAYBE he can reduce turnovers with a changed mindset but seeing as that trend has actually gone the other way it doesn't seem likely.

how long is it gonan take for him to dominate a playoff series? even in the first round? thats one of my main points. he hasnt done it yet. curry, lebron, kd have. ****in westbrook, kawhi, derozan/lowry have. harden ****s his own self up. its annoying to watch every year. aint no "harden stoppers" out there. no one can touch his step back move or his euro step or his strong drive. he just doesnt wanna go through all the work to show these guys up.

I cannot see how we allow Refs to call a game one way for 82 games
then be perfectly fine with the rules changing for the playoffs

That is not HArden's fault. . that is on the NBA and the Refs

Are you even living in real life? Look at this playoff game log. Outside of 1 bad game in the OKC series and 2 bad games in the Spurs series, he was fantastic and efficient. Stop cherry picking. Sure, he's had games where he struggled to draw fouls, but he's also had 3 games of 16+ FT attempts in the OKC series. He didn't fare as well against the Spurs, but they're the #1 ranked defense for a reason.

He can absolutely improve his shooting and improve his mid-range/post game. It's simply asinine to suggest that at age freaking 27, he's maximized his production.

I feel u, but Harden should adjust. He's perfectly capable of being effective without hunting for foul calls. I feel like he plays better when he's just focused on getting buckets anyways.

Holy cow, there are some true morons in the GARM. You're bringing up Derozan and Lowry in an argument against Harden? You're going to ignore their awful no-shows, along with Westbrick shooting his team out of games consistently?

OMG, he's not as good of a shooter as Curry, the best shooter of all-time. Oh no, he's not as intimidating as KD, one of the worst matchups for a defense ever. Oh no, he's not LeBron, will go down as one of the top 5 players of all-time. Trade his ass

you too dunno how to argue, or have bad reading comprehension.

i said DOMINATE A SERIES! those guys i mentioned have done that. harden has yet to do it.

i dunno how to respond to your 2nd paragraph. yes those 3 are superstars. the word superstar used to mean you brought your a game in the playoffs. those 3 do that. this is a weak era so its not that hard to believe. scoring a buncha pts while putting up as many shotsisnt dominating.

Harden has things that he can improve on in order to play better in the playoffs moving forward

    1) get in better shape - return back to that 14-15 level...he had noticeably more athleticism and explosion back then

    2) improve shot selection - he has fallen in love with the 3 ball way too much and has basically eliminated his mid range game...10-11 threes a night is way too much for him, 6-7 threes is a healthy number...replace some of those threes with midrange jumpers...also, stop settling for so many contested threes off the dribble

    3) get his shooting touch back to where it used to be - he has gone from being an above average three point shooter to being mediocre at best

it would also help if he wasn't the only star on his team having to go up against GS, SA, etc...his scoring and playmaking burden is too much

The turnovers are so monumental. when he gets more than 3 a game, especially in the post season, it takes away from any positive stats. If he could only trust EG, Lou Williams, Pat Bev for handles and creation more when he's tired and just get in position to score he would be in the conversational to be the greatest of all time ever.

actually its not as crazy as you're trying to make it out to be. he's going to be 28 when next season starts. you're not going to see any dramatic changes in his production at this stage of his career. Not really a knock on him bc he's having mvp caliber years during the regular season as of recent, but to think he is going to get significantly better still isn't that realistic.

People only remember Game 6. They do not care about the other games. It's incredible. You'd think Corey Brewer and Josh Smith won 4 games playing 2 on 5.

Harden has 3 other guys, Eric Gordon, Pat Beverly, and Lou Williams and even Ariza and Anderson sparingly that can handle the ball and create when he's tired but he chooses to do high volume turnovers instead. This team was built to prevent Harden from doing so but he doesn't buy into help and thinks since he's done and out the whole team should also sink..
